Worst. Case. Scenario. So much stress this season for NOTHING.

Bad luck for Woody. We might sneak in to the playoffs but have no shot without the Amare that was coming back to normal.

And so many were telling me that this era was different - not just a continuation of Dolan's dumb starphucking. They still need to do real rebuilding; there are no shortcuts.

Baron had a herniated disk, which is worse. Bulging disk is what Gallo had his rookie season.

I can't believe this. Really if this was going to happen it happened before Jeffries AND amare got hurt. Would've been nice to sign Turiaf.

Oh, this isn't good. Amar'e Stoudemire, who tweaked something in his back on Saturday night, went in for an MRI today and came out with bad news. Via Steve Popper:

Amare - bulging disk - out indefinitely. Non surgical treatment coming. #knicks

About that non-surgical treatment for Amar'e - it is non-surgical today but Woodson hinted that it could turn to that. #knicks

Popper also just mentioned that Amar'e is headed down to Miami to get a second opinion on his back. We know all too well from our experiences with Danilo Gallinari and Baron Davis that bulging discs have the potential to cause a lot of trouble long-term. There's no way of knowing for how long this particular disc would like to bulge, but it seems possible that Amar'e could sit out for quite some time. Pooooop.

Oh, and just to make things more fun, Jeremy Lin will rest his sore knee tonight as well (though there's no indication that that's a serious injury). Baron Davis will start with Iman Shumpert, Landry Fields, Carmelo Anthony, and Tyson Chandler, and Toney Douglas will probably get minutes off the bench.

Injuries suck, y'all. I hate 'em.

the defense might improve with Amar'e out, as much as I hate to say it.

i wouldn't feel as worried if Jeffries and Lin were healthy.

but with Jeffries, Lin AND Amar'e out? UGH.
