Can we rule out drugs? Can we rule out sickness. Can he handle the pressure of New York. Something is seriously wrong with Melo.

His rebounding is down only about .5 rpg, his assists are up, steals and blocks are right in line with his career numbers, turnovers are down, and he's probably playing the best, most consistent defense of his career. It's not drugs, not laziness, not anything else, it's his injuries. Once he gets a chance to rest in the offseason he'll be fine.

If that's all true, he should have taken the week off instead of playing in the all-star game.

Taking off the allstar game wouldn't have fixed what's wrong. He's going to need an entire offseason.

Sprains can definitely make progress with a full week off and physical therapy.

Maybe, but he's dealing with three injuries. And the allstar break was only four days not a week. Also, I don't think any sort rest during the season would have helped, not when they're playing 66 games in 126 days.

Fair, but laziness is always there with him, this is a constant. We have established this.

No one has established ANYTHING. You really are a freaking idiot. Because you decide hes lazy then its established??? Learn the F'n game. Your postings SUCK. This whole topic SUCKS too. Why would you associate him with drugs? This is total crap and brings down this forum.

Some fans are just idiotic. This has to take the cake for being the most outrageous ignorant post ever. This is worse than when people were saying that STAT was finished. Oh yea he's picked up his game so let's pick on Melo now. The guy is playing great defense and still averaging 20 points per game for the year. First he gets criticized for not playing team ball and now he gets criticized for not scoring enough and on top of that gets accused of having a drug problem. The guy plays hurt unlike that Euro trash player Gallinari who is constantly on IR. Will you guys ever learn to think before you post and just enjoy the six out of seven streak we're on.

LOL, I really read and thought the same thing. People taking there post as established reporting. The guys been in the league for 8 seasons and just got back stabbed by Carl on the way out of Denver, you think there would a couple hundred stories to post about fat guy lazy Melo.

Melo has certainly been lazy at times this season. Old habits die hard.

But during his current scoring slump, he has been MUCH more active on D, boards, steals. I like what I'm seeing. Hopefully, he is just a tad out of shape and using more energy than ever before on parts of his game he previously neglected.

Agree that he has upped his game in certain areas, but you have to be in top physical shape to play at a high level on both ends of he court, especially (IMO) if you are a PG, SG, and SF.

If Anthony wants to be a complete player, he has to do the type of training program Lin did in the offseason.

My biggest regret as a high school and college athlete is that I didn't do an ounce of weight lifting or training in the offseason, but then I was not under a public microscope like Anthony, a star athlete, is.

Nothing drastic can be done during the season, but Anthony must understand that to reach the next level he has to compete (with himself) in the offseason and transform his body.

No man is happy without a delusion of some kind. Delusions are as necessary to our happiness as realities- C.N. Bovee

Yeah, seriously - for the year as a whole Brand has played better. And he has a much shorter contract. If the trade were done in the context of real rebuilding, I'd still gladly trade Amare for Brand. That would have to be followed by getting out of Melo's contract too.

Can we rule out drugs? Can we rule out sickness. Can he handle the pressure of New York. Something is seriously wrong with Melo.
