Knicks won baby, im not arguing about anymore. Talking about things I see on the court. I like seeing plays being run, not freelance pick and rolls. I like seeing my coach giving input, telling guys to get back. Likes it and you can't rain on tonites parade.

Yeah I know, we were suppose to posting in my vagina is hurting for MDA threads all night, but there was a change in schedule!!!!!!!!

I loved how people got the ball to our scorers and weren't running something hoping that the other team reacts or some magical cut happens. It was like, Felton is on Amare........get Amare the ball. Hay Jr hit a couple of shoots, LET"S RUN A PLAY FOR JR!

Im all flushed in the face............ I will need to burn off this energy to go to sleep to night!!!

You do realize that they were just running the offense they've had all year. What do you think they would do considering D'Antoni ran practice today and it's all the team knows??? I hope guys around here don't start ascribing the results of this game to anything special Woodson did, just as they shouldn't kill him if the team had lost. What this team does from here on out is mostly going to be a function of the players fully buying in and giving max effort and not so much about X's and O's. Woodson is the same guy everyone ragged on for not have any kind of offensive creativity. He was captain ISO.

It's not like they ran a ton of ISO's for Melo and changed things up. This was basically the same darned plays. They just executed and hit shots!!! The key was the commitment to effort that hadn't always been there for 48 mins. Go and look at Melo's shot chart and see if you can find some major shift in what he did. People got excited cuz Tyson had a post up. While I do think Woodson will look to implement more of his ideas, we need to be patient with him and see how that all works.

agreed.

Look Nix, if you wanna believe that since this is MDA offense that the team would have done this anyway, that's fine by me.

All I'm saying, I don't give a damn what you call the offense, I like to see plays. I saw that even when up by 20points, when the offense went stale.............we ran a play. It wasn't a freelance Landry Fields Three pointer either. It went to stat and Jeremy didn't even have to touch the ball.

That's it, Im done............

Let's GO!!!!!!!!

Even though it didn't go in, loved the play Woodson ran for Novak to get open with 3 seconds left in the first half, with Melo inbound passing it to him right on the money. Little things like that, you see the difference already.

Is it the truth or not??? Don't just talk ish tell us how it wasn't the same exact system they've been playing all year. See it easy to make comments and jokes with no actual argument to refute a statement. We all want Woodson to succeed in coaching the team but why lie about what he did today? He's gonna be able to make adjustments over time, but tonight he could only do so much.
The players just came with a commitment to play hard all night and to pay team ball, which is all that MDA was trying to get them to do. What in this statement is untrue?

MDA couldn't get the players to play hard for him on a consistant basis. Thats on him, he's the coach and thats one of the reasons he's gone. Time to move on....

watched woodson's post-game. he seems ok. i got a good impression from what he had to say.

also watched melo's post-game. damn, i love how that dude butchers english:

"nobody saw this (MDA quitting) coming. it caught everybody by off guard... we won this game by a long slide."

lol.

i'm kinda excited by woodson's presence here because he's got nothing to lose. would love to see him go loose cannon coach and succeed through unorthodox threats and intimidation.

hope "accountable" pertains to melo and stat as well—i've got good feelings on woodson though.

we pulverized the portland failblazers. the real test will be the pacers. tonight we hit our 3s but that's not going to happen every night. melo was on his best behavior — let's see how long it lasts.

Well said anyone who coached under Larry Brown is good in my book. Just what an undiciplined Dantoni team needs

I think Woodson will have a good chance to succeed because his strength is really on D and this team has a lot of defensive capability that went away during the losing, but we know it's there. If they really commit to max effort there's no reason this team can't succeed. I believe Woodson when he says he'll hold players accountable. He's gonna need to cuz we have some guys that will backslide to laziness if you let them.

I think if Woodson is true to his accountability pledge STAT has the most to lose or gain depending on how you look at it. Woodson has to spend extra time to get it ingrained in him that he must concentrate on D and the boards. The points will come. If he doesn't fix it then he won't play in close games down the stretch if Woodson is true to his word.

Actaully defense was the key. Held them to 29 in the forst half. We didn't any 3's to grab a lead. They finished with 79. We did a good job of showing and getting back to our man. We also seemed to crowd the paint, the same way teams have been defending us. If we can keep up this defensive intensity, we'll have a shot to win many games.

Refute? LIE?????? I don't give a sh1t whos phuckin offense this is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me won the ****))))((((***&&^&^^ game! That's what I care about. Thats all I've always cared about while you kept explaining the offensive schemes that we were all too dumb too comprehend (even though we were losing)

You have to stop with these comments - they are anachronistic. Move on - you sound so silly.

It reminds me of Tariq Aziz (former Iraqi Foreign Ministers / spin meister). The US/Allied forces were demolishing the Iraqi's and Aziz is all over the radio saying "we are beating the americans - they are fleeing". And then they had him cornered in a bunker in/near the Iraqi airport and at the same time he was broadcasting on the radio "The infidels are going down - we showed them blah blah blah"

Its over. Move on. Embrace the knicks because you are a knick fan. MDA is no longer here and there is no need to continue to defend every post that puts him in a negative light. What has frustrated me with you is that if we don't/didn't agree with you then we are dumb idiots who do not share your vision.

We all disagree on here all the time but many of us can still joke around and be cordial (at least when we are done) while with you, you don't joke and are always so serious. You get offended easily when people mock your posts but they are mocked because they are so rigid, serious and freakin repetitive. And always bloody about your protecting and defending MDA. If you do that, its par for the course that you will take abuse along the way. If you can handle that in a light hearted way, then fine if not, then it is what it is.

I have no personal beef with you, you are probably a really nice dude - I just disagree with your belligerent approach. Let's move on like men and continue to agree to disagree but chill a bit.

look, melo quit on d'antoni and quit on the team and it was tearing the team apart. i'm not happy about melo at all. i want the team to win. amar'e looked more energetic and engaged tonight than i've seen him in a while (though he looked pretty good against chicago, too). if the team needed this to happen to move forward, so be it. still don't like the way melo dogged it since mid january on this team.

tyson chandler basically admitted in the post game that the team needed a change. he said d'antoni sacrificed himself for the good of the team. so be it. if the team wins, i'm happy. i liked MDA quite a bit, even i knew he was flawed as a coach.

here's the video with tyson's comments.

Via Bob Knight and Larry Brown

"I'm not going question anything that Mike D'Antoni did,... I thought he did an excellent job. Unfortunately he felt the way he felt and he moved on. I sat right next to him. And it's my job now, as the head coach, to continue to push. I don't know any other way."

"I tell guys on this team now that you better cherish the minutes that you get, make the most of them... Because if you don't, I might not come back that way. That's just the nature of this business. I'm trying to win, I want these guys to win for the city of New York. That's the only way it should be."

Mike Woodson pushed young players in Atlanta who were accustomed to having things their way. In a sense, what happened to him in Atlanta was the result of pushing so-called "stars" too hard. Josh Smith sulked openly. When things got tough in the playoffs, the Hawks resorted to selfish play that drove Woodson crazy.

Woodson is only 53 years old, but he is an old school disciplinarian who thinks defense first.

Did Mike pull a Jason Garret? Did he not pull out all his defensive tricks so that he could get the job? If everyone has Melo theories why not create new one too. 'Yes, I know I said you guys to switch but this is how I really want it done.' I got my I on you Mr. Helper(Woodson).
