Most of those players earned the right to have a say in who coaches their teams. Melo's play as a Knick has been worse than even critics of the trade could have ever foreseen.

I didn't say it was right, I said it happens all the time and we shouldn't be freaking out over it.

If fans are supposed to judge D'Antoni on 9 games out of the 288 that he coached maybe Melo should be judged on the Boston series when he averaged 26 and 10 and shot 51%.

I'd bet if you go back and read what was written at the time, with a few exceptions, the reactions then were similar to the reactions now to Melo. I know that it was said about Kobe, Lebron, and Dwill and I've read/heard that it happened to Magic.

I don't judge him by those 9 games or the 288 as a Knick coach. Working for Dolan brings out the worst in everyone. I'd judge him mostly by his performance in Phoenix. His biggest mistake was choosing to work for Dolan.

Backing MDA because I like watching his system when it works is hardly anything to apologize for.

It's never been about MDA. This was about Melo. I wrote this in another thread and it's my main mantra now. I'm waiting for the time when Melo is the REASON we win games. Since he's come here he's been a net negative. This team has a better record without him and performed better statistically when he's not on the floor. Most Stars are actually the main figures in their teams winning. Melo have never been that here. Even in the last 3 games he's not the reason the team is winning. They proved they could win without him and they're mostly winning DESPITE him now. A coach didn't need to lose his job over this guy.

Take a look at the Phuck Dolan thread. Folks got so caught up in MDA worship and defense they can no longer root for the Knicks because it'd be eating major crow if they continue to do well.

We all have learned over the years that "Change" is not always a good thing.

So its got to be about the games.

If Woodson brings it, then that is just fine.

I've just got bck after being away for a week wih no internet- I was shocked to see D'Antoni gone- we'd lost 4 or 5 games before I went away, but I really didn't think he'd be gone. What exactly happened? I looked at the boxscore for the Bulls game, and it looked close- what waas the tipping point (I missed the games from the Bucks onwards).

I feel bad for him as a person, but not so much as a coach. I didn't hate him, but I got tired of seeing the same old crap, and him acting as though he had no control over any of it- may we never have another 3rd Q where we get outscored 33-18. D'Antoni is a good coach when you have a team full of professionals and good character (like we had during the Linsanity stretch), but how often is a team really going to have that? He didn't do enough or have any answers when things were bad- you can blame the players, but at the same time it's his job to do something about it rather than wait for them to see sense.

I like the new coaches demeanor, and his preaching accountability- really what we missed. Didn't think much of the job he did with the Hawks, and I'm not sure if he'll work out or not, but I'll give him a shot and hope for the best.

W'happen?

MDA is more like Larry Brown in that he thinks Professonals should bring it but Woodson like Larry Brown too but will get in your ass about details and things be done a certain way. His way.

MDA knows he is toast at ths seasons end and can't make it work with Melo so he and Dolan handled it nice and smooth. MDA gets his money and DOlan likley got his gag order so everyone is happy.

Knicks win three and nobody really understands why either.

Baron Davis missed most of two games we won, but JR got hot.

Same arguements here.

Novak is the new mayor. Lin is selling Volvos. BTW, Chinsese company owns Volvo now.

Larry Brown is sad for MDA but happy for Woodson who he was assistant coach in Det.

Grunwald, Isiah and Darrel Walker, new knicks assistant coach are all in on this .. or so it seems.

Thats it in a nut shell. Some are pissed MDA is gone and blame Melo. Melo is smiling.

Lin is Taiwanese, not Chinese. Just sayin. There's a difference, which apparently MSG understands, because they've inked two deals with Taiwanese corps since Linsanity.

Chinese practically own IBM and Budweiser too. <---- heard this on the internet.

I never said the Chinese own Lin did I?

The people who live on Taiwan are of chinese ancestry BTW.

Only Japanese occupation caused the initial split. It was hoped that by "declaring independance" the world would recognize the occupation as wrong. Did not work.

After WW2 The United Nations recognized it with Chinese nationals exiled to run democratic government.

Yes, there is a difference but geneology is chinese.
