Melo and SVG would go well together.

The synergy is right for that.

Feed Melo the ball in the low post. Give Amare the ball in the high post. Who cares is they hold the ball for a few seconds if we get quality shots.

Thank You +1

Wow. This is not what this team was built to do: RUN and GUN. Slow it down so we can watch Melo and Amare shoot 40% and lose games by 20 night after night because they SUCK at defense? That's really your plan for the Knicks?

SMH at this.

As for a trade: Melo for Pau isn't fair value for the Knicks. If we trade with LA it would have to involve Kobe somehow. I don't think LA would bite, but Kobe is old and Melo is in his prime, so ya never know.

Better for us would be Melo and Tyson for Dwight and Hedo. But I doubt Dwight could handle NY pressure very well unless we are winning.

I'll one up you...JVG!!! The guy lived for half court sets and ISO bball. That's all he ran with Spree, Houston, and LJ.

This team was not built to run and gun. It wasn't after the trade. Billups didn't even want to run half of the time yet alone Melo. This is why people have problems with the coach...yes you got a player who doesn't want to run in your pretty little offense but he's here and he isn't going anywhere anytime soon so....ADAPT.

Oh yeah, more isolation plays please... this is so exciting to watch, Melo is the best one on one player in the league... I just love it when it takes the ball in his own half court, dribbles up the ball while his teammates go on one side on the court to give him more space, and watch him shoot 25 times a game.

Oh yeah, that'd be true basketball... what are they thinking trying to play a team game, share the rock, install continuity and move to create spacing... ! Anubis, you should coach in the NBA

Please, enough or revisionist selective memory. JVG freaking walked because his roster we imbalanced and he knew he could not coach them. Spree wore out his welome, LJ could not move and H20 lost his legs.

1999 was a nice run and we got blown out in the finals. The next season? We lost to Toronto when Camby's sister got held hostage and Camby got real sensitive.

I was talking about SVG in Orlando WITH Melo.

Anthony Denies Wanting Trade From Knicks

ShareEmailCommentPrintText Size- / +By BRIAN MAHONEY AP Basketball Writer
GREENBURGH, N.Y. March 14, 2012 (AP)

Carmelo Anthony said Wednesday he doesn't want to be traded, denying a report that he would welcome an exit from New York.

"No, no, no, no. Let's nip this in the bud right now. No," Anthony said after the Knicks' morning shootaround.

"I don't know where that came from. I'm tired of hearing it. It came out this morning from I guess an anonymous source. I'm tired of anonymous sources. I don't want to be traded. I don't know where that foolishness came from, so let's put a cap on that and make this the last time I hear about that."

Anthony also denied there is a rift with Mike D'Antoni, saying he supported the coach "100 percent."

The Knicks have lost six in a row, with Anthony taking much of the blame. The back page of Wednesday's New York Post ran a headline saying "Melo Wants Out!" The trade deadline is Thursday, a little more than a year after the Knicks acquired Anthony from Denver.

But Anthony called the report "nonsense," adding that he's faced adversity throughout his career and "I've never ran from it and I'm not about to pick today to start running from it."

"I've only been here a year," Anthony added. "I don't want to leave right now, so I'm here to stay."

Anthony also said he believes fellow players and team officials prefer he stays, saying he received text messages from teammates asking him about the story and telling him they don't want him to go.

According to the Post, Anthony became so discontent with the Knicks after Monday's loss in Chicago that he told a confidant that he preferred to be dealt. The report said he was unhappy in part because he believed D'Antoni and interim general manager Glen Grunwald do not trust him.

"I don't think that's true at all," forward Amare Stoudemire said. "Melo loves the city of New York, he loves playing for the Knicks. So I don't think that's true at all."

Mike D’Antoni doesn’t believe he is losing the locker room.

“No, nope,” D’Antoni told reporters on Wednesday.

According to sources, several players were complaining about D’Antoni following Sunday’s loss to Philadelphia which isn’t unusual for struggling teams during a losing streak.

When asked if he is convinced that he has the full support of his players, D’Antoni said: “I am. But you have to ask them that. I’m confident. I think they’re great and have been great and we’ll battle through this.”

The reason they are shooting low percentages is because they are getting the ball in spot they cant do anything.

Melo and Amare need to receive the ball where they are comfortable.

The current offense allows for EXCESSIVE freelancing which is why guys stand around and watch while Amare or Melo Iso's. If we had some set ISO plays then guys would know where they need to be.

Exactly. Just because it's called ISO doesn't mean everybody should just watch and not cut or move around. Obviously D'Antoni knows how to run a High or Medium Pick and Roll, but Give and Go with the post guy is not in his vocabulary LOL.
