Our goal should be to finish with a 40 and 26 record.

Here's my prediction:

3/4: @BOS W
3/6: @DAL L
3/7: @SAS W
3/9: @MIL W
3/11: vs PHI W
3/12: @CHI L
3/14: vs POR W
3/16: vs IND W
3/17: @ IND L

Perhaps.

But to me, our goal should be to show up every night and work hard, especially on the defensive end. If we do that, things will be fine. We have the talent; we now need to develop a consistent work ethic, and bring the energy for four quarters every night.

We're all excited by what we saw the other night, and rightfully so. But where were we in the first half? Coming back from 17 down at home against the Cavs in late February is nice. But we cannot afford that type of first-half effort against anyone come playoff time, because a good team will bury us.

Maybe Tyson should make that speech he delivered at halftime before every half of every game. Hey, whatever it takes.

Anyway, I've been a Knick fan way too long to start coming up with a prediction for a particular stretch of the season. Every time I do it I get burned, so I'll refrain.

That said, I want us to win the games we should win, and I think we all know which games those are. IMHO, there are at least five of those games on the list, and I'll leave it at that.

This team is for real. This isn't a week from hell, it's a week from heaven cause now we can prove the rest of the NBA we are for real. And a big thank you to Miami for setting us down this road with that smack of realization.

8 or 9 wins is realistic. What I want to see though, regardless of the record, is great team play and Melo, Stat and Lin thriving together with continued solid play from everyone.

Time to raise the bar. I think a good team needs to believe it can win every game. 7-2 is legit. We need to use 10 guys and we have to play defense similar to our second half effort--if we do that I think we are simply to talented not to go 7-2 here.

I'd be happy to see progress.

The cleveland games has left most happy and expectations high.

The Second Unit had a nice game. Lets see if its sustainable. Damn strong to have a guy like Baron AS A BACKUP!

I hope we can climb above to the sixth seed or better.

The Answer Man plays 'em one at a time

The road is not a friendly place and injuries are inevitable.

Inevitable.

If you KNOW, "dese guys don't do nuttin' da easy way"... you also know the plot twists and turns of the season are unpredictable. That is what makes it so much fun. The fun is just starting and the unexpected has gotten us this far.

You REALLY think the unexpected will suddenly leave the building?

All our guys are rejects. Every last one of them.

That is what makes it so perfect.

I'm particularly concerned about the games with Boston, Milwaukee, Philly and the Pacers for obvious reasons. If we can win all five of those, I'll be very happy.

Be concerned about each and every game.

There are no easy matchups and no such thing as a guaranteed win. This season is crazy business.

The Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, OKC, and other top teams would go into this stretch expecting to win every game. We can't go in hoping just to go 5-4 if we're a contender.

Wow, so you think if we go into it thinking more positive the team does better?

bonn1997 - in the grand scheme of things, whether the team wins or loses, it does not matter what fans hope for.

It matters what the PLAYERS think and believe.

“Before I got here, there was talk about a championship, but there was really no ... no adversity to go through. And I think that we’ve been through a lot of adversity now. We’re gonna still have our bumps and bruises, but this team is continuing to bond together and support each other and love each other, and that’s what it’s gonna take to win a championship.”

I really really want to say 6-3, but let's be honest.

This team was DOWN 17 points at home to a tired, young below .500 team on the end of a back2back without their starting center.

I don't believe we are a contender just yet. We are a good damn team with potential, but an elite team shows up every night and takes care of business against bad teams.

No, you overestimate yourself. Only my thought processes impact the team.

I think the Knicks do need to fix there mental approach to games so that they ALWAYS play with the same intensity. Being down 17 to the Cav's wasn't really the telling aspect of that game. What was telling was the self correction and how the team increased their effort level on the defensive end. That was an impressive display of just what the team is actually capable of. Yes they still have a problem judging the level of intensity they need to have at the start of games, but that only happens against weaker teams. They almost always play hard from the start against good teams.

We have too many weapons. And Jorts didn't even break a sweat yet. 8-1.

But then I was wrong about JR. 7-2.

Jerome was sent to the NBDL. 6-3.

Dolan may try to insert Bibby as the starting PG. 5-4.

I hate Boston more than any other team in the league. There never seems to be an easy game against them. Go into the fourth quarter with a 10 point lead and these bastards find a way to fight back. I swear to God if Rondo gets above 8 points in one-man fastbreaks I will turn off the game.

Shut down their transition offense and take Rondo out of the game.

we always let them back in. We should have beat them so many times the last two years. Now that our depth and offensice system has improved we should be able to wear them out
