He makes some effort to stay in shape. He even tries to play a little defense. When he's not in a contract year, when he's secure with a multi year guaranteed contract and/or the team is losing, he's locker room poison, he gains weight, he literally "jogs" around the court looking bored and irritated.

His ambition for the stage is well documented in his work off the court.

He carries a Screen Actors Guild card.

You do the math.

YOu forget there is another team in NYC?

If Deron bolts, the russian got money and the Nets practice facility is a lot closer to the midtown than the Knicks is.

Baron is still getting paid by the Cavs for one more season.
Why would he not stay if he has found Chemistry with the Knicks, because he is getting paid top $$ regardless.

If they do resign him they need to find another pg just in case. I would try to get the rights of Nick Calathes from Dallas. He has been doing well in Greece and has improved his D. Having a back up 6-5 pg that is a great passer would be lovely especially in this system.

He's on Cavs book next year also?

I would much prefer Baron over Nash, especially as a backup. I think Nash needs some volume but who knows. The TFK quote from Davis sure tells a lot. Personally I think a marginally in shape Baron for 20 minutes a night over the next few years would be a coup for reasonable money. Man I think he fits and his impact on Lin and the young players cant be overlooked. This isnt a me first guy anymore. He didnt have to sit on the bench during his rehab and cheer every minute of this

Wow did not know that. Apparently, he's still on book with Cleveland, so returning to NY is not inconceivable.

I think Nash is a better player, but Nash is made of teflon or something. If he leaves Phoenix he'll start and get 35 mpg. I think Nash stays in Phoenix. Kind of a throwback in terms of loyalty

I hope he stays on this team because he, though some here probably will disagree, is without a doubt in mind one of the leaders on this team. I cannot wait to see the problems he causes for opposing teams come playoff time. Baron Davis could always ball and last night wasn't really too surprising. People seem to forget him smoking us at the Garden, while on the Cavs last year.

But if he has the option of starting for Miami or LA next year I don't see him returning.

Davis, who turns 33 in April, said he’s not at full strength yet. He also said he can’t really play more than 15 minutes at the moment.
“That was enough,” he said. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”

maybe he would not mind staying here playing 15-25 mpg.. maybe this is his comfort zone now... he an play a huge part of a winning team and just have fun again...

I would love to see Steve Nash on the Knicks next year but I have a feeling Baron will sign for another year at minimum salary. Not sure what team would sign him to a multi year deal above the vet max.

So if we don'thave Baron Davis money, how are we gonna afford Nash dollars?

I was right there with you on Knash, but I think the emergence of Lin changes things. As much as I thought it'd be the perfect fit, I'm not sure Steve wants to come off the bench, nor should he. Man's having an incredible year. Baron's cool with me going forward for another year.

Davis is due another 14 million from Cleveland in amnestied salary next year. That means he'll take the minimum wherever he goes because Cleveland pays the rest. If he's dead set on a starting role, he won't be coming back. If he's not at full strength at season's end, wants to win and likes D'Antoni's system and what it does for point guards, he'll come back.

I thought that was what his contract situation was. There is no reason for him to leave unless he has a better opportunity to win some place else. Hopefully he stays. This team is starting to seem like a special group.
