My wife does not know of SAS and his act.

Mrs. Nalod was like "is this some kind of SNL skit or satire?" She thought it was great but was really thinking its an act.

I told her it is, but this is "his thing" and he does it all the time.

After 15 min she asked if we could change the station. She thought he was bipolar.

That's why they call him "Screamin" A Smith. I do like his interactions with Skip Bayless on 1st and 10. He does get out of control at times but they do have some interesting debates, and it can be pretty funny too. Haven't listened to his radio show however.

Sports radio is at possibly the lowest ebb in it's history. Everyone is a histrionics show screaming and ranting to try and get callers and/or ratings.

Most of the personalities are people who can't write, so they turn to the microphone.

Hmmmmm, an ESPN entity that's spewing anti-Knicks sputum. What a surprise.

When the ball doesn't come to you, you must come to the ball - REBOUND YOUNG MAN!!

How could Stephen A know that? Immediately after the game the team went their own seperate ways, with Amar'e catching his own flight to the carribbean for a pre-booked holiday- when and to who could he have vented his supposed fury?

Look, Stephen A is now pushing his agenda which is that Amar'e and Melo should be taking all the shots. Someone should ask him if he's actually seen how Amar'e and Melo are playing this season? If he had, he wouldn't be pushing for it- honestly, before Lin, both of them went through phases where they tried to force things and dominate and they looked awful and so did the team.

When your stars are having poor years, and you have a good PG and a deep team, why the heck would you play the way Stephen A is saying we should? We only started winning when we started sharing the ball.

SAS should have a picture next to a dictionary entry of "Blowhard". Urban Dictionary definition of blowhard fits Stephen A to a T.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=blowhard

1. blowhard 660 up, 66 down
1. A very boastful and talkative person; a braggart

2. A self-important egomaniac who likes to toot his own horn, like those *******s who put bumper stickers on their cars that say "PROUD PARENTS OF AN HONOR STUDENT AT (blah blah blah) HIGH SCHOOL"
"Did you catch the State of the Union speech last night? What a ****ing blowhard!"

2. Blowhard 89 up, 62 down
Someone who speaks loud and long, offering an opinion YOU disagree with.
That blowhard thinks the Red Sox can come back from a 3-0 deficit. Geez!

3. blowhard 14 up, 4 down
an opinionated person who talks loud and way too long on the same subject, often sensationalizing the subject matter

Awesome. It's like the SAT Verbal section.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Heh...

I'll agree with The Good People: never before has the Sporting World witnessed such a dramatic drop-off in a very small time.

Easy to forget the guy isn't even 30!

What is lost on the media, and of course its does not have sizzle, is that its not an either/or situation.

Melo has huge talent to pass and rebound. He is not superman and can't do it all every game every minute. Few can.

Melo is a great Iso talent and you need that to win when necessary.

I have no doubt MDA being able to put it all together.

It takes time when you have all the pieces in place.

This time, its only been 3 weeks!

crazy to talk "trade melo"! But it invokes reaction and that boosts ratings.

Its all about ratings BTW. THe media, ESPN and MSG!

In basketball years though he's old. Has alot of mileage on his body especially with his high flying style of play in Phoenix. He's been in the league 10 years.

Xavier McDaniel lost like a foot off his vertical in something like his first 5 years while he was still in Seattle and that was when he was still a dunking machine. By the time he got to NY and Boston he had lost something like 2 feet off his vertical.

STAT will be fine. He's probably never going to be the continually explosive player he was, but ALL players eventually slow down when it comes to that kind of over the top athletic display. The main thing I see is that STAT isn't getting the same looks he used to get and not at the same frequency. He used to be the primary option and now he's 3rd or 4th!!!

Trust me that will effect your game if you don't get regular touches. STAT needs touches to get his rhythm back. Melo has always been a guy that gets his outside of the offense, but STAT is completely a system guy. He always gets his in the flow of the offense as a primary option. Lin and STAT need to figure out the chemistry between them as well as Tyson. How often they go to STAT is a function of Lin making it a priority!!! Lin has a really tough job! Just imagine you're out there with all these guys looking for the ball!!!

In the end if they play faster this will allow more possessions and enough shots for everyone. That's been how MDA has managed things in the past and with such a Deep team that is one way to keep everyone happy. A return to TRUE SSOL would be one way for the team to fully exploit it's depth. RUN!!! With a deep team you can play fast and hard cuz you've got guys behind you that can play and so you don't have to "save yourself" so to speak. Just go hard and run at every opportunity.

I felt like the team was playing slower due to all the new faces. Guys were thinking too much rather than just running the offense at a crisp pace. Hopefully the practices will help this.

Actually I thought Amare did have a very nice 1st half against the heat and kept us close. I was disappointed he did not see the ball more in the 2nd half. Not sure why but NOT melo's fault( come on Bonn stop blaming Melo for everything ) . I love Lin but really more a point guard reason.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

Good post Nix ... Bottom line is that MDA has a tough job ahead of him to get all these (good) players that he now has into the mix.

Was thinking the same thing...

But on the melo and amre note, those guys need time to adjust, play with a real pg, get there timing and spacing correct, build an idenity..Amare's Timing as been eratic, jumpers look rush, and hesitate's on his layup's..probably explains the block shots..

Those 2 haven't played 30 games together..we have to be patient

WHOSE fault is that eh ?

I am always the biggest Amare fan
but if youre leaderless LIKE STOUDEMIRE
and aint gonna demand the rock/BALL and live your life as a 6' 9" Forward star on the perimeter 3/4 of full game
looking and living for your Jumpshot as AMARE seems content with

Whadda ya expect?

Amare isnt taking no blame
he comes off saying he sacrificed his game for MELO

I dont say some of it aint true
But he is soundling little selfish here

He isnt doing the little things of the big things he used to produce in NBA
and gained respect.

Sounds like Sour grapes

You can feed Amare the ball 20-25 shots same as MELO

Lets see whom will score more !

Amare dont even play Defense like he needs to

He need to get on the ball with his leadership cause I dont see it!
if he needs to have the ball more go to your PG!
