Melo and amare need to be having big games when we face mia. They take away the pick n roll completely and the ball has to swing out to fields melo or stat with a rotating defender running out at them and they have to make a play with the defense off balance. This is what we got melo for. Last year the pnr was going great with ray and amare and we faced Miami and they left Wilson open and forced him to make plays and he couldn't deliver.

I could only prey we play the heat at some point in the playoffs,I know we can take this team in 7 games..besides when was the last time the team with the best regular season record won a championship, especially a team with labron on it..

Miami is definitely playing at its peak. They have the right players to play that suffocating defense they do. And as James said, they play so fast that they catch every other team off guard.

But lets remember they are playing our system. They have mastered it though I still wonder if they have the right players for it. Any team with Lebron and Wade will look good, but they lack long range shooting.

For the Knicks to match up well with them, they desperately need to develop chemistry. I do believe we have the pieces to match up well against the Heat. Lebron may be a highlight show, but we have a deeper team that still hasn't accoplated yet. Our stars may not matchup well to theirs, but when we get our offense running like this team can, it will rub out to our defense and make us play faster.

Miami isn't unbeatable. When you play a team at its peak, you need to take care of the ball, play your offense smoothly and keep batting on defense.

Two things about the game stood out to me:

1. The Heat's intensity and aggressiveness were so much better than ours. We played so tentatively. We did not grab loose balls or finish strong at the hoop, and we missed a ridiculous number of shots from 10 feet and in. Chandler was the only exception in terms of intensity.

2. Considering how poorly we played (some of our turnovers were awful) and how great the Heat looked, I was shocked that we were pretty much in the game throughout, and actually led for much of the first quarter. Miami should have blown us away, but they did not. I think that is a very interesting point to consider, especially since we will undoubtedly be a far better team the next time we play them, which is April 15 at the Garden.

The bottom line is, I did not think we were ready to play with the Heat, and I was right. But for whatever reason, the score was fairly close, and I think it's fair to say that things will be different in April.

Did anyone notice that out of the four quarters, two of them we scored the same amount of points, one we were down 4? It was in the third quarter that we were outscored by 10. Basically we matched up with them for 3 out of the 4 quarters... that's nothing to sneeze at.

ya everyone acts like we were blown out the entire game but we were still in it most of the games. Miami has never faced us on full rest or healthy this year yet. Both games we competed and we weren't a full team yet
