Two things about the game stood out to me:
1. The Heat's intensity and aggressiveness were so much better than ours. We played so tentatively. We did not grab loose balls or finish strong at the hoop, and we missed a ridiculous number of shots from 10 feet and in. Chandler was the only exception in terms of intensity.
2. Considering how poorly we played (some of our turnovers were awful) and how great the Heat looked, I was shocked that we were pretty much in the game throughout, and actually led for much of the first quarter. Miami should have blown us away, but they did not. I think that is a very interesting point to consider, especially since we will undoubtedly be a far better team the next time we play them, which is April 15 at the Garden.
The bottom line is, I did not think we were ready to play with the Heat, and I was right. But for whatever reason, the score was fairly close, and I think it's fair to say that things will be different in April.
