Right, it will take many more wins over a much longer period together to develop this type of chemistry. This was a statement game for the Heat, and that should tell you that even the best teams now take us seriously. Their defense on Lin was intense but we weren't able to explore the mismatches. Our terrible start is stil too fresh in our memories and our confidence is not very high. It will get better with time.

STAT is still a concern. Team looks better with JJ out there and that's plain as daylight.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Knicks played tough defense, weathered some storms from Mia and fought to stay in the game. Heat have chemistry, Knicks are finding it, but with efforts like last night I have no doubt it will come

I disagree about the effort level. Miami came out and played Play off intensity basketball. I don't think we matched it.

And intensity or not, Amar'e looks lost out there.

Last year, it was clear that Amar'e was better than Bosh. This year, that is true the other way.

Jesus, stop cutting these guys so much slack. Wade was a out a week the last time they played us and he came out and crushed the Knicks early.

We aren't a good team. Our stars aren't top 10 guys and then don't have the intensity when it matters. Amare allowed Bosh to outplay him again and we never come out with urgency on a consistent basis.

I had to do a double take and check the date of this post...If that's the case this team is in huge trouble...

We have a 1st or 2nd round playoff team, which is what we have now. The only difference is that we have $40 mil in cap space.

STAT has been a beast most of his career and now with all the issues this season he's trying to find his niche with this group. Lin hasn't really developed any chemistry with STAT and he misses him wide open a lot! This is what practice is for. Fans need to wait and see how the team looks after they get a chance to work with the coaches and each other.

Dude you're 6'10 you go get the ****ing ball. You challenge shots and you impose your will. Fitting in? It's basketball make your presence felt or sit on the bench, period.

Impacting the game comes in a variety of different ways. No one that size should ever average below 10 rebounds with that athleticism. Kevin Love leads the league in rebounds for what reason. He's smarter than almost all the other players at his position and he actually boxes out his man. Barkley was the same way. STAT never boxes anyone out he is always jumping for rebounds. It's not brain surgery it's basketball. Melo is should be grabbing 8 rebounds every game period.

And can we hit someone when they go to the basket. These guys always talk like tough guys and act like they want the world on their shoulders, but them they come out flat. Kris Humpries out hustled all our guys the other night, Melo like a chump tried to trip him, stat hit him after the whistle, Tyson tried to get in his head all while the crowd was yelling you suck and booing him everyone possession, but he was tough and owned our guys. That's the problem with this team.

Amare, go get the ****ing ball and don't let Chris Bosh embarrass you and the team. You can't be a max guy if you're not a top player at your position. Which Amare isn't. Time to look in the mirror.

why didn't Davis get more burn at the point?
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Lay off him for a bit, his brother just died- some people are absolutely class-less. There's a number of very valid reasons why he's having a poor year, but after what he did for us last year, and the fact that without him there'd be no Melo, Tyson, BD, JR Smith or Lin, he doesn't deserve the hate he's getting. Yeah, it's frustrating and we all want to see him play better, but stop acting like there aren't reasons for him playing poorly.

Davis is making 8% of his field goal attempts. That's not a typo - he's shooting .083.

Amare hasn't been right all season. He's not making his jumper and he rarely dunks or hustles in games. That has nothing to do with the terrible tragedy that he is going through in his life. If he was all of a sudden out of it I would agree with you.

Players go where the money is, remember that. He wanted his 100MM and no one was giving it to him. Carmelo wanted his money and he wanted this stage. When you have cap room players want to come to New York. Amare had nothing to do with Lin. We are 17-18 and are a medicore to bad team at the moment. We have 5 good wins all season long and have had the easiest schedule in the NBA.

Pointing out that Amare has been getting blocked at an alarming rate, doesn't make his jumper, can hardly dunk the ball, doesn't box out or hustle on a nightly basis doesn't make you insentive or classless. It's the truth of the situation. Whether it's his back or knee there is something wrong with the kid and it's very concerning.

He didn't turn the ball over every other possession. Yes, he didn't face the pressure Lin was facing. Regardless, D'Antoni should have given him more minutes this game and less minutes to Lin, ESPECIALLY in the first half when Lin was rattled and the momentum shifted completely to the Heat's side.

I can live with missed shots. But turnovers... that's a lost possession PLUS giving Miami a guaranteed basket. And you do you really think Baron would have the balls to chuck up 30 foot three-pointers with Melo and Amare on the floor? He does that sht with impunity with the bench unit, which is why I'm glad JR got more assertive last night and ignored him when he demanded the ball.

LOL mediocre to bad team?

Do you know how many GOOD teams would have been blown out by a rested, motivated Miami in Miami on the 4th game in 5 nights? And it wasn't even a blowout. We should have had a lead coming into the second half. The game was still within reach near the end. We cut it to 8 points in the fourth quarter.

This is all true. What is most concerning is how hard Amare works to overcome injuries etc. Whatever is going on he has not been able to fix, or overcome. In the past he lied on his stomach for 22 hours a day for 10 days straight to fix issues with his eyes after two surgeries. He came into camp wearing those funky shorts that he said helped him to keep posture correct so that he wouldn't reinjure his back. He is not a guy that doesn't work hard at overcoming things. I don't think his character or work ethic can be questioned. Whatever is going on seems to be something that he is not able to control or fix.

disagree they needed to let someone else bring up the ball and initiate the offense and let Lin get the ball after a few passes.
