Wouldn't doubt if the Knicks dropped 150 on somebody in the near future. We just got a glimpse of what they can do. I mean this is Lins first year for crying out loud! I think we looking at a dynasty being built here fellas, imho!
bingo... Melo in an open floor spread SSOL offense is going to be a problem? Really? And these people are paid to write their opinions?
I hated the Melo trade because the Knicks never get lucky and get good players, but they kept the right guy in Fields. The moves that made the Chandler trade possible took flat out balls that turned into a grandslam. Then we get lucky with Lin. Luck doesnt even describe it. This isnt like head from the hot girl at the pub lucky, this is like powerball lucky. If any fanbase was 'due' its this one.
When you look at the depth and talent, the system the coaches have in place, the moves this management has made... how do you not keep this group together for a couple years and see what they can do? All of them... coaches, staff, Grunwald... all of them.
You forgot a big one... Baron Davis being hurt just enough to be amnestied and scare off any of the teams under the cap, but not hurt enough to not come back and possibly make an impact this year. Its early yet, but he looked good last night, even if timing a little off and reckless. He gets a little under control, and I don't think we've ever had a better PG pair on this team in my lifetime.
And another bit of luck: JR Smith. Whatever he gives us is just gravy. But I was impressed with him last night. Crazy scrappy D. When that shot starts falling, he's gonna be a huge factor for this team.
