What the hell does Melo have to do with Deron lighting us up for 38?! These pg's are taking it as a personal challenge when they face Lin. Calderon lit him up in Tor and now Williams. Lin said himself that he needs to do a better job of defending. But its not all on Lin, we are a terrible team defending the 3 in general. Nets had a good game plan, they surrounded the perimeter with 3 point shooters and went with a small lineup. We had no answers tonight as the same shots that went in on Sunday, clanked off the rim tonight.

How well you get along with people is determined largely by how they make you feel. Do you feel good around a person or do you feel bad? This decides if you will keep their company.

Carmelo Anthony makes the Knicks feel bad. They might not want to admit it. Fans might not want to admit it. But he kills flow.

On some level that we can't pinpoint, he kills chemistry.

I won't even mention Baron, I think that one is pretty clear.

No, thats how you feel. Every post that you make about Melo is negative so of course you are going to feel that way.

Melo forced 11 shots up. The whole team was missing open jumpers. Novak, Smith, Amar'e, Lin, Melo, and etc. Then Lin had to chase Williams off the ball and got lit up. Melo and Lin should have had 10 assist tonight easy but guys were off. Lin looked tired and so did everyone else. The game changed with the second unit.

They miss a couple of trey's and we make a couple and it's a different ball game.
15 for 38 is unreal. Tip your hat off to them (or the basketball gods) and move on. No need to blame anyone. Win as a team, lose as a team.

Melo just can't win on this board. Melo takes less shots, people say he should be more agressive. Melo takes only 11 attempts(only 1 more than landry), and he's forcing shots up. Melo has 6 assists, someone will comment on his turnovers. Poor guy just can't stay away from hate.

I'm just sayings.

And we still made it a game at the end despite playing poorly all game. They were a team to the final whistle.

Tonight, when the going got tough, the team fell apart.

THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE.

Tonight's team made it a game at the end as well...

melo or amar'e need to go. simple as that. no room for TWO guys in the front court who only score and don't play D. you can make room for one, not two.

i'd keep melo and look to trade amar'e for ANYTHING.

I think there is the elephan in the room that needs to be talked about, which is Lin's defense. he is getting lit up by point guards in this run and when you do not have Shump it will be a problem. It is still a problem with Shump if the pg gets hot against Lin, like Williams did.

You compare the team on Sunday to tonight? It's not a team, you FEEL this when you watch the game and everyone who tells you they don't get a different FEELING from this team with Carmelo is lying to you and to themselves.

Don't you think, to be fair, we need to give Melo 5-6 games before we want to ship him out?

Too early. Panic button officially off the table. You guys are ridiculous. Give the team a chance to pull it together first and we'll see what happens.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

No, I don't think so. We've been saying the same thing about this guy for how long now? "It hasn't been one full season", "hasn't even been a year yet".

JR stepped off the plane from China and dropped ill-nasty swag all over the Garden. Everyone happy.

Melo comes back, fork in the tire.

It's just who he is, he's a dominant presence and it throws the team off its tracks. It derails the team, derails little Jeremy Lin and everything he's trying to do here.

I feel so ugly when I see that Iso.

At one point, Baron walks the ball up, dribble dribble calmly at the top of the perimeter, shot clock ticking away, looking to throw it to Melo in the post. Hideous.

Carmelo Anthony is ANTI-BASKETBALL

hate to say it because I love Amare but if you look at whats best for team this is 100% correct. Especially when you look at how good Lin ran the P&R with Chandler

Lets not use a one game sample to make decisions.

Melo was rusty last nite but he had 6 assists.

Nobody was hitting shots. We went toe to toe with a team that was clearly going to be physical and thats not our game. They pounded us.

Our three talented enigmas Melo-Davis-Smith were rusty and tentative. Smith looked like he smoked a joint before the game.

Melo had to be reminded who he was and get aggressive to attack. Thats going to be ok many times.

What I saw was the Nets were not going to give us the paint and we could not hit the outside shot. They fouled us and we missed our FT's.

They beat us and we failed to execute.

The feeling was not good all nite.

I say shut the team down, fire the front office and join the indoor soccer league by buying AI's team.

1 game. Melo plays more minutes than anyone on the floor in a Knicks uniform coming off two weeks off and only takes 11 shots. He gets assists. Kill him.

BD comes in from out of nowhere and hits a three. Shoot him too.

Deron was hot last night. Good for him. The stupid Nyets are still going nowhere fast. Can't wait to see them shoot 50% from three for the rest of the season. Lin couldn't stop one of the best scoring guards in the league on an insane night. Fishbait.

Amare's not shooting well (the Net radio announcers even had hard ons talking about his mid range game) and he's not dunking hard enough. Crucify him last, since he's sort of a team guy.

Kill them all, then let ESPN sort it out.

Melo's defense in that game was great. He closed out well on all his shooters (causing DWill to airball a three in the middle of his three point barrage on our backcourt), he dove for loose balls, he was active in deflecting long passes and scrambled from the perimeter to contest paint baskets. His defense was solid.

Christ, I hate it when people lump Amare's attributes with Melo because they play on the same team and it's convenient to their agenda.

After being so dayummed wrong about JR (thus far), I find archibundo's comments both insightful and correct.
Thanks for adding some light and balance to the neverending suckhole that is Melo hate.

Did you see the article where MDA says he does not recall Melo suggesting that Lin should play. He's such an ass.

Look, this won't work. No way, no how. It's about the feeling it gives off.
