Hickson has the lowest value of the two, while they both can really help.
They both have the athleticism, most importantly, the defensive abilities to compliment TC and help relieve some minutes.

There is actually quite a lot of young talent on the Kings, they just don't seem to mesh.
They remind me of a Clippers in the 90s or 2000s, or a recent Wolves till key acquisitions this year.

Hickson will be getting a qualifying offer next year and likely either be extended or traded.
He had a great year last year with the Cavs, when Varaejo went down. He looked like he was going to be a solid PF/C as defensive, hustle player, that will bang, and just work hard with his effort and body.

Thompson looks to finally get it this year, finding a role as a starter at PF or the first BIG off the bench.
He can hit the wide open 12 foot jump shot and just work hard on the boards. His game would compliment TC and help spread the floor better.
However, he has been playing the starting PF, while receiving 20-30+ minutes on the team.

While I totally agree we could use a player of their skill set and caliber, I just cant find a realistic trade to make with Kings 1v1.
I am not sure if we can offer the Kings anything they would actually want or need.
Even if we were wiling to part with our younger players with upside in Iman Shumpert, Fields, Jordan and Jorts.
They have players in all positions already, so they would look to upgrade their talent, and/or acquire more draft picks.
Do we even have draft picks, especially 1st rounders we can trade?
We would probably need a 3rd team to complete a trade.
Memphis is a team that has similar talents in Speights and Cunningham, with Zack Randolph coming back.

If we are looking to unload Melo or Amare, another team that we could look to trade with would be New Orleans.

Ariza
Kaman or Ok4

for one of our "stars" and 1 throw in with

Jordan
TD
Fields
Jorts

would match up salary wise. I am not sure if we would need a 3 team trade or more and I don't know if we can also get draft picks in return if it was Melo.

Ilyasova, Delfino, and/or Dunleavy are players that I think would help compliment our system and style in which we are trying to achieve.
They have the abilities, skill set, basketball IQ, and versatility to start or off the bench that compliment both Lin and TC well.

When Chnadler fell awkwardly yesterday I didnt think we had enough if he was not there. I dont know if we need td or walker if we can get an athletic PF type who has proven he can play and defend i think it would be a very nice last piece

lol. yeah let's trade Melo. sounds like a brilliant idea. /sarcasm

clearly trading Amare is the only move we should consider doing right now. he looks like sht now, just imagine him in a year or two. Melo is going nowhere. Not even for Howard.

Thompson, don't think we have a shot at from a talent & salary standpoint.
Hickson would be a good pick-up for the playoffs, but I doubt you get him
for the knuckleheads (TD & Walker) that are available for trade.

Walker is a good 3 pt shooter for a team hes proven it. They could use that--or perhaps threeway etc..

I'm not that big on Thompson, but Hickson has upside. He was able to put up some impressive stats when Byron Scott beat it into his head that he needs to rebound and stay near the rim. He is an athletic finisher and would be a steal. I just don't know who we have to offer. TD and Walker isn't going to get it done. They already have Thorton, Jimmer, Evan and Isaih Thomas, who has been looking sharp lately..

Yes, and Jorts is not the guy to back our bigs up.
