It's a little nuts to dismiss the efficiency stats when it discounts Lin's performance while also embracing the same stats to claim the Knicks are among the best defensive teams in the league

Anyway, I am not impressed with Hollinger and his disciples

Slurp.

orangeblobman, I really hope one day you forgive yourself and allow yourself to come out of the closet. There's nothing wrong with you (well, for being gay anyway)

That's not fair.

It was recently imparted upon me the importance of "points per possession". I'm just trying to understand what it all means.

It's not fair that every time you come back and start posting on a regular basis we need to remind you to stop being a jackass. But by all means keep testing my patience.

I agree with Isles here, all he is saying is he is back to earth after all the celebration and taking things to perspective. It is a valid argument not a slam on anyone here on the forum.

Yeah, regardless of the validity of any of Isles' points here, I definitely don't see how anything he said violated forum etiquette.

There is some truth to that..while Lins been great, the competion hasn't..Never the less, he carried a back squad for most of the way and has them playing at a high level..there's no negative the can over shadow that

We played very well against the Heat, Celtics, & Lakers on their respective home courts.

This is a point that many fans have overlooked with all the excitement. The team was starting to play better and working hard, but still lacked the needed PG to help get easy buckets. Lin had a burst of energy that no one else had since he hadn't been playing much and he carried the team to a much needed win.

It doesn't really matter who we played. It's always about HOW we play. As long as this team is actually executing on a high level that is the key to being competitive against any team.

why would the original quote take away from Lin? you play the teams that the schedule puts in front of you. i don't get how those stats are a knock on Lin at all. we took care of business and we gotta keep doing it even when the opponents get tougher.

the reason that islesfan gets such a negative response is because he's looking for one. he's too smart to routinely miss basic points or fail to grasp simple logic; or maybe i give him too much credit. i believe he intentionally misconstrues peoples' ideas and then uses that as a technique to try and bait them into petty arguments.

in any event, i don't get the sense of genuineness in him that i sense in other posters here. some guys may disagree but you get the vibe that they enjoy the back and forth; they enjoy sharpening their ideas against a good counterpoint. a lot of good posters here.

isles however strikes me as someone who's goal it is to refine his method of ****ting on hope and pushing people's buttons. it's like he's a homer-seeking missile targeted at optimism on a path of hope destruction.

Seems alot of posters here were scarred during the Isiah and Starbury era.

Isles wants to remind us that despite the joy of watching the games, the team is not that good statistically.

Its like he takes a **** in the middle of the room to remind everyone **** smells bad. We know it does.

We know the knicks have won a 7 straight, and its been against some scrub teams. We know that.

Extend MDA is not based on stats, its based on team playing for its coach, his reputation, and making a run without being a lame duck.
