No disrespect but Gallo was a projected top 10 pick.
Lin was on noone's radar. Props to BRIGGS.
For the record, BRIGGS was the first to sound the alarm over the draft picks given in the Eddy Curry trade, too. Nuff respect.

No one wanted to draft Lin. But everyone wished they did after he whipped John Wall in summer League. To Briggs credit he did take notice of Lin after he dropped 30 on Kemba Walker.

He had the talent within him but things worked out for the best in the end. I'm sure Lin wouldn't change a thing seeing how things worked out for him and led to this situation.

This is what people fail to realize in wondering why this kid did not get a chance sooner. He went to Golden State and improved his shooting to the point that he is no longer a liability on the court. This kid could not do what he is doing now right out of college. It took alot of work to get where he is now, and he needed to be in the system that maximized his skills (good passing) without exposing his weaknesses.

Much props to BRIGGS, but he also does pick alot of people, which means you are eventually going to get some right. He was dead on with Lin and Bynum though. His Hilton Armstrong love though did not pan out.

BRIGGS got this pick right, no doubt. He has a great eye for undiscovered talent. As for IGOI, well that's another story.

Props to Briggs, for sure, but lets put it in perspective. Lin, in all likelyhood wouldve been drafted and cut b4 we ever saw what he was. He was nearly cut this year. His is the most unusual journey and its hard for someone to really be given credit for him when he hasn't what he is now, and may have never been were it not for the path he took. he was in the d-league a few weeks ago!

but having said all that, if u picked him and he thrives, u get the credit. and on that note I need my own thread for the Iman Shumpert pick. Do I need to dig up my remarks pre draft? Do i? Dont make me do it.

ironically on the MSG forums about 8-9 whatever years ago when the KNicks had the pick they traded for McDyess and Briggs name was 'RipHamilton' he said we should just draft Amare and give Michael Redd the full MLE (he was coming off year two of his 2nd round pick deal and hadnt really broken out yet

Briggs generates ideas and discussion and its about something he has seen WATCHING college BB, as opposed to some who are internet stat regurgitators.

He also said we should get Rodney White, Sharif Adur Rahim and a couple other duds, but you have to respect any poster to simply calls it like he sees it. I know I do

it is his overall game--in this particular style of play. You get a combination of top notch intelligence speed and athleticism with nice overall skills. In 7 sec or less you need guys who can move up and down the court and know how and when to make a play with all of the skills in the package.

MUCH PROPS.

Thats amazing!!

This aint football. All-world athleticism wont get you anywhere. Every year theres a guy in the draft combine who jumps like 50" in the air and never gets drafted.

who was the guy who wanted knicks to draft jeremy lin in '10 draft
