If you're getting a legitimate superstar, you can definitely later replace the depth. Like you said, the burden will be on Melo to show that he is the answer though. The team is looking very good without him and expectations will be high for him when he returns.

I have faith that it will work out. At the very least, Melo is better than Bill Walker. Best case, Melo fits in like he did on the gold medal team. The teams needs the ball to flow freely (obviously). But, if I am lucky enough to watch the Knicks in June, there will be an exception at a big moment where the Knicks will need Melo's half-court abilities

I'm genuinely curious to hear from those that voted for the first option- I guess it come down to, would you have trade:

Felton, Wilson Chandler, Gallo, Mosgov and picks for Melo, Lin and Chandler

I think that trade is pretty even- I'd probably go for Melo etc, but I'm interested to hear peoples reasons for keeping Gallo etc.

Where are all the New York Nuggets fans that were still crying about the Carmelo trade just over a week ago?

Novak is better than Gallinari. He's more efficient and he's not a black hole when he gets the ball.

OK. Now you guys are just talking crazy. I love Novak but Gallo is on another level than Novak.

Is this about the trade? Why did you include Lin and Tyson in the list then?

Because Chandler probably isn't a Knick if that trade doesn't go down if you believe the people on this board that Mozgov was the Center of the future and Lin is most definitely not a Knick with the immortal Raymond Felton running the offense.

It's like saying that you were on a hike and broke your leg falling from a high ledge, and when you fell you landed in a ditch which kept you hidden from the.bear.that would have.eaten you if you did not fall into the ditch.

It's still not good to break your leg even if in this case.it saved you.from being.killed by a bear.

Way to skew everything towards your opinion. So the Knicks keep all the cap money they would have had and do nothing with it. That's your thinking?

We have Melo. Top five Player in NBA.

Amare is now third best player if Lin keeps current pace.

If u count D Amare is fourth behind Chandler

Last year b4 trade Amare was hands down our best player

Gallo was best Denver got back and Wilson....

But we upgraded Knicks by getting Melo

Just needed most important piece to puzzle and that was a PG

Eat some vasaline

I didn't completely dismiss signing Chandler because of Mozgov but Felton would have most definitely blocked what's going on with Lin. I think it would be foolish to think that the roster changes involving Chandler, Shumpert, Novak and Lin would have happened if the Carmelo trade was never made.

There's really nothing else to say. If Melo were doing his job, you wouldn't need to create illogical polls to justify the trade.

Have you seen how Felton's been playing? Any team with him as the starting PG is going to be looking for a replacement. Maybe they sign Lin, maybe not. We don't know what Chandler would have done if we'd outbid other teams too. You're making many assumptions in a desperate attempt to justify a bad trade.

No, no, no. Don't you remember, Felton was great in Antoni's system and he and the rest of the guys traded away were so great together and the Knicks were on their way despite their record. Isn't that what was being said here ad nauseum up until about a week and a half ago?
