Also another thing about Lin..Might be the only one on Team who knows how to sell a foul. Very Gallo Like how he slightly looks like he is getting abused on his way to rim to get and 1s and get foul calls.

Sometimes Amare and Melo's bully ball on offense hurts them cause refs never call anything in their favor cause they look so strong going to rim.

Magic Johnson is said isiah was the right man for the job to Dolan. So I don't take anything he says all that seriously.

But, ive/we never seen anything like this. It's nice to see joy again, Jefferies, fields, Chandler all getting his back and praising him. The garden will turn on Melo and boo him quick if he disrupts the chemistry which he will likely do. It's going to be up to lin again to save Melo from himself

Yea he's got that Italian soccer school of flop in him.

Hey, maybe Nash is the old Lin.

I see more similarities to his game and Chauncey's. Both are very effective scorers but not quite pure PGs.

I think Melo and Amare will be fine with Lin. You have to understand who playing PG before Lin could they take seriously. Melo can go back to being a receiver instead of facilitator and his FG percentage will soar. Same with Amare.

TD sucked at PG and Shump wasn't doing great as well.

I think more purity will emerge from his PG skills when Amar'e comes back.

Right now he's balling with Tyson and Jeffries. And Novak. Not terrible players but nowhere near Amar'e in ability to drop the buckets after receiving the ball on the fly.

That's a good point. We'll have to see what happens.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Can you explain a bit more what you're seeing. I see CB as more of a guy that isn't always looking to attack a defense. He's spent the majority of his career staying out at the 3pt line and waiting for RIP to come off a curl or some other option to emerge. He really never played PnR and tho he does drive now and again it's not a constant aspect of his game. Lin is more like Nash to me in that he's always probing the defense and attacking. Lin is a scorer, but he's much more of a pure point than Billups ever was.

I'm seeing too many turnovers to be a pure PG at this point. And he seems to think shot-first although that may change when Amare and Melo return. Billups attacked the basket more in his prime than when he was on the Knicks.

Well said.

More than anything, Carmelo and Amar'e want to win. Whatever errors in judgement or ego were NOT out of character flaws. Both were trying as hard as they could, to apply their skills sets and carry the load. Their strengths had little guidance.

Douglas insisted on going side to side. Shumpert is a rookie. Bibby is toast.

If Lin can make the game easier for Jared Jeffries and Bill Walker, imagine what Carmelo and Amar'e can do.

It's only basketball.

You sure about that? What do you think the Denver fans would say? I don't know what to think anymore after seeing Melo take so many bad shots.
I agree that Amare is a team-first player and don't see any character flaws with him.

I don't see the billups comparison. Nash, tony parker, john stockton are all more similar.

Tony Parker is completely different from Nash and Stockton. I don't see how a player could be similar to all three of those. I definitely see similarities to Parker though.

Billups was never an exposive pg like lin is. i mean lin can drive right to the basket as good as most pg can. maybe rose is the exception but he is an mvp so lin is in good company. I thin lin has been working on his perimeter shot like he saw last night. The lakers were trying to let him take the shot since he is great at penetrating but now he is hitting the shot so he is very difficult to defend

Don't care what Denver fans say any more than I care about what Draft Express had to say about Lin. Different situation.

Carmelo is a creation of the manufactured hype. Some of his own doing with the trade demand. Some of it the star treatment that the Knicks decided was an appropriate welcome - including the over-the-top PA intro. Every time Carmelo scores it was treated like the second coming. It is not. The resentment that some feel for the players Dolan gave up is NOT Carmelo's fault. That is on Dolan. Not Walsh. Dolan.

Fast forward to today and the clean slate everyone is playing with.

Why can't Carmelo receive the benefit of sharing the floor with Jeremy Lin and the Furious Five BEFORE we pass judgement?

Or is he resented for other reasons?

I don't remember anyone or the Denver fans complaining about Melo in the past? Did the Nuggets do better without him last year? He routinely won 50+ games with the Nuggets every year in a loaded Western conference now all of a sudden he was a problem. Fans kill me.
