Enough is enough. We need to reach out to our representatives to stop this. This isn't limited to TWC. MSG has done this with several other cable providers and who knows what will be next. Even if you don't have TWC you should care cause your provider can be next.

See link below. Reach out to your reps and let's push for legislation to stop this from happening again.

Is it MSG to blame or Time Warner? Why doesn't Time Warner just pony up?

The rumor is that a deal was done at a minimal increase, I don't remember exactly what the amount was but it was under 10% and after the lockout ended and the Knicks got Tyson the increase went to +50% and Time Warner wouldn't go for it. I think it is more on MSG. They haven't had a deal with Dish Network either since fall of 2010.

The conflicts of interests is incredible. I mean these are private businesses, but I feel like as consumers we are really getting the shaft. I'm no lawyer — I just play a doctor on the Internet — but antitrust lawsuit anyone?

MSG shares at all time high because they own an ugly arena with the best address in the US on top of Penn Station, which used to be a glorious building and is now the Port Authority Bus Terminal in a basement...

They also own Knicks, Rangers, the Liberty, Radio City, and a competing cable company with local market monopolies. You are right 208, we should be writing our reps.

But cable long ago priced me into being an ex-customer. At least we get national games (remember when the Knicks were down to 2 national games a year in the D-Lee era?), radio, and the Internet. I would be a paying customer if I didn't feel jerked around.

Mike Francessa is going to try to get reps from both time warner and cablevision on his show today or tomorrow to give their stance and get it out to a wide audience.
