I never imagined that we'd actually get a PG that was as close to Nash as you could hope for, but that's what Lin is. He's legitimately a pure PG. That's not how they scouted him when you read up on him, but this kid has been proving people wrong for so long. High School, College and now the NBA. GOD, i'm so glad we picked him up.

That smile was a celebration of pushing through, surviving and winning.

close to Nash - a bit premature no? One of the top PG's of all time? 2 time MVP ...

We can't say that for at least another couple of games

Reminds me of Rod Strickland the way he relentlessly darts into the paint and finishes. Especially the reverse layups which was a Strickland Staple. Nothing like having a pg on the Knicks...

I'm not talking about the highest levels that Nash plays on. I'm comparing HOW he plays the game. He does the same kinds of things in breaking down the D and getting in the lane and making great passes. He's got that change of pace drive thing down and he's crafty around the basket. Basically the same way that Nash runs the offense. Clearly he's not the shooter that Nash is. Nash is a career 50% jump shooter!!! I'm not saying Lin is as good as Nash. I'm saying he plays in the same style as Nash which is PERFECT for this system.

When Lin can throw no look passes as easily as Nash and improve his shooting touch then the comparisons might be more appropriate.
He played amazing, really awesome, but we're setting ourselves up for a big letdown if we set the bar that high, this soon.

Lets just enjoy the moment.

I am hoping for - as good as Rubio. I think that is actually possible but it won't be easy. Love that guy

We're Knick fans. Building up our young is what we do. Nate, Marty, Landry, Shump...

Oh, and then we turn on them.

Apparently, you didn't watch Hot Rod play very much:

After Rod was traded to the Spurs and was an official NBA starter, these are the assist numbers he put up for 9 straight yrs:

8 ast
8.6ast
7 ast
9 ast
9 ast
9.6 ast
9 ast
10 ast
10 ast

His numbers went down a bit after that, but he was on the down side of his career...

Sorry - damn! I did not remember him being such a good passer. Great Penetrator.

Rubio is something special, I honestly didn't believe he would play that well from seeing how he was buried on the bench in Europe.
His court vision is already among the league's best. At this point Lin effectively managing the offense will make me real happy.

I still remember that failed behind the back pass he made in the playoffs with the Spurs that knocked them out of the playoffs. Rod was a very good PG and also unfortunately yet another NYC PG diva.

This is just the beginning for Lin. He'll learn a lot from playing major minutes against more teams. He can be for the Knicks what Rondo was in the C's championship year. There were questions about whether Rondo could handle the role of starting PG, but he went on to play very well. Lin has a chance to prove his doubters wrong and help his team win games.

Perfectly stated!

I did not expect that out of Rubio either. And, his numbers in europe were not nearly this good. Much easier to get assists with high-flyin dunkers.

In effect, this is Lin's rookie season. He has played a TOTAL of 374 minutes in his career and NEVER this many minutes. Last season, in 29 games, he averaged 9 whole minutes.

"Lin had 28 points, setting a career high for the second straight game, and 8 assists. He also had eight turnovers — all in the second half — although no one minded under the circumstances. Fatigue might have played a role: Lin played 45 minutes." - Howard Beck, NYT

It’s Jeremy Lin’s world and we’re all just living in it.

Lin should be installed as the starter )for the rest of season, even when Baron's healthy. Like Guns mentioned that can be a lethal bench(JR too??

Shump still needs to settle down and take good shots but he had one really sweet crossover / pull up jumper that really was impressive. Would like to see more of that.

The kid had 6 rebs and 6 assts - not to shabby - did not shoot that great though
