Apparently Jeremy Lin is staying at his place when he can't stay at his brothers.

Bullsh#t, it was just Deron freakin' Williams that Jeremy Lin gave the business to.

franco12 - did you even watch the game?

I did, and I was one of the ones calling for Lin to get time during the game, and not just garbage time.

Besides his offense, I also liked his defense.

And you did see that I compared him to Nash? I just want to temper this as one game against a bad team.

But, as long as MDA is here, we should go with Lin because he is the one PG that understands how to run his system.

Not only did he shut Deron down, but he got players easy looks.

One game. Against a poor Nets team. It's nice that he's playing well, but let's keep our feet on the ground until he's doing it regularly.

He shut Deron down. Lin was great on offense, but I watched him closely on D and he was all over Deron. Deron couldn't breathe, man. He was suffocating.

I hope he avoids the random bouts of insanity and 2-18 games. Other than that, I'm just hoping he keeps penetrating and breaking down defenses to open things up for everyone else.

Ok, to put things in perspective: after few attempts and his 3's not falling he did not make it worse by shooting more, something that Starks could have done. Instead he started driving the ball inside. This young man can adjust in game and stay productive.

Yea, noticed that.

And what's cool is that he can drain those shots. I don't think he's a poor shooter. Some nights you will see him making it rain, other nights he will be penetrating asses and dishing it off.

There's a reason that I feel good about Lin. His game isn't about his jumpshot. His game is about his brain, handle, vision and accurate passing. He can get to where he wants to. Unlike Shump and TD, he's not scared of defensive pressure when he dribbles and will maintain his dribble like Nash does. He is in full control and get's the defense to do what he wants. Lin doesn't hesitate to drive if the lane opens. His jumper isn't bad. Not from midrange anyway.

I noticed that TD played like a major load was lifted off his shoulders. Lin may have saved TD's career too. TD simply doesn't belong at the point. The best part of last nights game is that now his teammates will give him major respect cuz he proved he can do it. So they'll listen to him and they'll make sure he gets the ball and runs the show. No more of this ignoring Lin I saw from time to time.

Basically Lin is a great fit for this style of basketball. I read some say he was a scoring PG, but he's much more of a pure point than those articles made him out to be. Still you want the PG to be a threat to score from inside and out. That's what maked Nash so great! He can kill you in so many ways. You don't want a Duhon that can only make a PnR pass. You want a PG that will get into the teeth of a defense and break it down. Lin doesn't have to do anything special except be the player he is.

Many of those layups he had won't be there against a team with strong interior defense. That said, I still think Lin can be a good NBA player.

I predict that Lin will have 13+ assist game in the next 13 games.

I just dream that he can be better than Rubio cause I am so freakin pissed we did not get him. Could be the best pure passer I've seen in years and he is only a rookie.

JLin - please take away the sting. And if you can't be that good, at least be better than NORRIS COLE!!

Sometimes it's just a guys destiny. This is where he belongs! It's almost like teams didn't want to believe what they saw with Lin even tho he's shown his talent at PG. I felt the same way about Shump. Everything you saw suggested legit NBA talent BUT... They never really gave an answer for the doubt. Their loss is our gain!

Bonn1997 - interesting theory. For about 15 seconds. Interior defense? You mean like the sweet dish to Amar'e off the baseline?

The only way any of us, including JLin, will see if any same layups are there against a strong interior defense - is to allow the young man to take his tour of the league. He has only been here since December, and is still living out of a suitcase on Landry Field's sofa.

The least you could do - rather than minimize his night of magic (the MOST fun night in The Garden this season) - would be to thumb through the Westchester County classifieds help him find a place of his own to crash.

Sheesh.

no comparison.

Starks was a crack dealing grocery bagging drop out who had incredible talent and got his game to the next level.

Lin was a high school champ, Calif. player of the year, and a 4 year starter while earning a degree in Economics from Harvard.

Time has been kind to Starks and his reputation. He was a constant frustration to the coaching staff and tested their patience at the end of his tenure here. Look it up.

Lin has demonstrated character conducive to success.
