I'm a big Melo fan but I make that deal yesterday

Plugs a lot of holes. Works with the existing staff. And the Nets get their stud who is locked into a deal

I still think the Nets have hopes of landing Howard and having him play alongside DWil. Making this trade would garuntee that Howard goes somewhere else.

no sure thing that DWill stays, even though cash is king

True. But if they had a DHoward trade in place, I think they get him to extend at that point. But def no garuntees

Nash plays for the Suns. Not sure you knew that

Clearly you missed the point.

It's a good pointKnixkik. Nash comes here next year as a free agent only if MDA is still coach. And probably with Stat here also.

Don't agree. Nash will follow the $ just like everyone else. Especially since its probably his last contract.

I don't think DWill leaves though simply because Prokhorov seems like the swing-for-the-fences type of owner/businessman (which I admire)

What money? In 7 days Nash turns 38. While he is in great shape and playing well, no team is going to offer him big money. I think we could get him for the MLE.
But I also don't think MDA will be here next year so it may be a moot point.

Believe me Money will play a part. MLE would be nice.

I hope MDA is here next year - it means we turned this Sh1t around.

I like him too. the russian version of Cuban. If they get Howard and sign DWil, I might just become a Net fan. I do live in NJ>

Why would we trade ANYTHING to the wretched Nets, who are looking for a star player to make themselves relevant as they try to move in on Knicks territory?

To hell with the Nets, the feces-colored abomination Barclays Center they're building in my backyard, and the team that thinks they can take over Knicksville.

Give the gotdamn Nyets NOTHING. As much as they have tried to undercut the Knicks? Please. Hell no.

If Deron wants to come to NY, wait until the summer and figure something out then. I'm not giving up on the idea of Melo working out on this team. Plus, they are the ones who has the player who is about to bolt. Let them take whatever scraps we would give them. They already have Shawne and Sheldon Williams. Those bastards don't deserve any better Knicks players than them.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

You are missing the point by just trying to spite the cross rivals. Regardless of "Does it make the Nets better?" the real and only question you got to worry about, is "Does it make us better?". You are a HardcoreKnicks fan, right?

We still got time to decide, around a month is my guess. If we are still playing like S**T, then we have to consider some moves. Perhaps we should first get rid of the coach as he doesn't fit the personnel and can't adjust and then see what another coach can do for three weeks or so.

This just in - Marshon Brooks out indefinitely with fractured pinky toe! http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/218682/MarShon_Brooks_Suffers_Broken_Toe_Out_Indefinitely

Probably not a bad injury but it does complicate my trade a bit...

In case you haven't noticed the Knicks suck. Denver is better and we are worse. It's that simple. The fact that we are entertaining the conversation means the Nuggets won the trade.

Deron would have this team in contention right now. The Nets would be making that move out of desperation and frankly it would actually make Amare and Chandler worth the money we gave them. Adding Lynch to the deal would make it so lopsided in the Knicks favor it's laughable.

Remember when Marbury got here he was regarded as a great player and teams actually wanted him. He couldn't handle the pressure and began to sulk. The exact same thing is already happening in with Melo. Get him out of here before it's too late.

I didn't miss your point at all. I've been hearing these "Melo for Deron" ideas for a while now. I'm dead set against it, that's all. Period, point blank.

Of course Deron would make us better, but I am not trying to see the Knicks do anything to make the Nets more marketable. Of course I want to see the Knicks do well as a team, and doing so without having to give the scum known as the Nets anything of value is the best case scenario.

It would be wonderful watching the Nets open up in Brooklyn having no one but that doofus Humphries-Kardashian headlining for them. LOL... I don't want to see them get anyone significant. No D12, no D-Will, no nothing. Having a seething disdain for the Nets comes with the territory when one is a Knicks fan. They're the enemy, as far as I am concerned, and moving into Knicks territory with the intention of taking out spot as the prime team in this area is invading our borders. We should give the damn Nyets nothing but beatdowns and blowouts when we play them, and that's all they deserve.

...and yeah, I'm The HARDCOREKNICKSFAN, and I approve this message.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I think melo's trade value has gone down a bit. I mean since leaving denver they have done well and we ...haven't lol. Dont get me wrong i think we can still get value for him but not as much as a year ago. also he seems to be more injury prone which makes the trade look even worse.
how about Melo for Deron Williams?
