Smith is a talented player and I think he would help the Knicks. He is a bit of a knucklehead though and traditionally those guys don't do well with the current coach.

He shoots threes, plays no defense, and has no IQ.

sign him.

For those who don't want JR Smith, please give us an alternative realistic SG.

You guys can't be serious, Smith would be a great improvement to our team. He adds depth to our back court, and will bring explosive scoring something we really lack. I've seen Smith implode for 40 point games, I've seen him knock down 10 threes. He's drilled over 100 threes for the last six seasons. We really, really lack a knockdown shooter. I am absolutely fed up with Landry Fields, Bill Walker, Mike Bibby, Toney Douglas, etc. missing wide open three point shots. This guy once drilled 180 threes off the bench for Denver. Forget his past character issues, this guy is baller and from his Tweet he would like to play here. Bring on JR Smith! If not try Wilson Chandler although I'm not certain on his free agent status once he comes back he was due to be a restricted free agent. Tonight against Houston so far Douglas 3-13, 1-5 from three. Bill Walker 2-8, 1-6 from three. Fields is just non-existent. Atleast STAT looked like the STAT of last year.

Nate and Larry Hughes with a good nite sleep and vitamins are JR Smith. He has talent but the Knicks have a coach that struggles with these types. In the past character has been more important then potential and upside. I don't think Smith fits with this coach. Also, Grunwald isn't going to move him out if he uses the 2.5 on him even if he makes it harder on the coach.

Big difference between JR Smith and TD is that JR is extremely decisive. :) He touches it, you know he will do everything in his power to make it into a scoring opportunity.

TD still wants to believe he's a point guard.

I'm down. This teams a shot in the arm, someone who has some fire and some swag in the back court. IMAN has it but is still a rookie, but Melo needs someone else who can get their own shot. Just one other person who can break the D down will make a ton of difference. I feel bad for the the back court, because the management put them in a losing situation. TD covered a few games for billups and we thought that was good enough. Clearly that was wrong. I don't think we need Kmart, our problems are clearly in the back court. We have enough big guys.
if he wants to come for a min, then fine.

If MDA allowed Iman the freedom to play even when he was a bit out of control, he would have no problem with JR doing what he'd be brought here to do, which is score. MDA just doesn't like Non-Basketball plays. So long as it makes sense within the flow of the game MDA has never had a problem with guys shooting. MDA wants you to shoot when you're wide open. That's how the offense is designed.

It wasn't so much character issues with players as it was dumb and selfish BB. MDA really wasn't wrong about Nate or Hughes or AR.

We wouldn't be sacrificing anything to bring him in, so what's with the dissing of this possible move? What do you expect the team to do, just sit on their hands? Who do you bring in? MOST of our roster has good guys on it. So he's a strange guy. So long as he plays well and helps the team win I don't see why you don't give it a try. What's the risk?

The whole idea is to either develop your own or sign a current star player to form the core of your team. We've elected to go with paying for our stars, but it's still a valid means to an end. The only mistake is not securing a quality PG to start for this team. JR or Kmart are solid moves to add to a team that needs depth.

Nobody understand this idea. It is religion not science. You must believe!!! Dolan is God and Isiah is the Prophet of his...

hopefully he plays during rush hour traffic.

If he survives, he should try to play on the FDR.

What are you talking about? TD is always very decisive. He is always looking to set himself up for the 30 footers fading away. Dude is money.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I think it would be cheaper, easier and give the UK faithful less angst to just have Dolan move the team into the Chinese League.

As far as SGs go, he's as good as we will find. He's a scorer and we need offense badly. He can shoot and penetrate and we know he can play alongside Melo. His attitude is his biggest weakness and it should be contained with our veteran core.

is that the same veteran core which has us 6 games under 500, and floundering?

Or in some instances, play OVER Melo...
