No - but in this system that creates wide open threes and depends on outside shooting, he is the only one not shooting 12% from outside.

And as so many have said, its not the lack of defense that's hurting, we can't buy a bucket. I think out coach said that.

OK so let me get this straight. You want this 250 lb, 6'11 homeboy to be shooting 3's from the perimeter? Then when he misses 4 in a row you will go off on a tirade blaming MDA for running a gimmick offense where people are supposed to cuck three pointers? Guess what you can't have it both ways.

You're missing my point.

Is this a gimmick offense that MDA looks to run? Yes, sort of. But its the system that's here and in place.

The man running it, MDA, believes in the open 3, and the value of hitting it.

But he doesn't play one of our players who has DEMONSTRATED the ability to hit open threes.

If Jorts misses 4 in a row, then I simply ask MDA to maybe sit him at that point- again, asking for 20 minutes here for him- and say - yes, you got to keep shooting it, but maybe next time, see if we can swing it one more time, or if you have a clear lane, drive the ball.

He's actually a pretty good looking, well rounded player. He had one great drive to the basket where he faked handing off to the guard on the screen- no video of it and I forget what game.

Putting Jorts in as a scoring option then benching him will mess with his confidence. I don't want him to go into TD mode. The point I am making is MDA values JJ's defense over Jorts' offense as he should. JJ is the best perimeter defender on the team after Shumpert. JJs minutes should have gone to Balkman but that never happened.

BTW - I LOVE what Jorts has show so far.
