At this point the Knicks could bring in Dennis Rodman, Meta World Peace and World Be Free to shake up things.

Knicks need what he brings: experience and shooting at the SG spot. He's a bit of a chucker and a knucklehead, but he can guard and spread the floor.

Then again, a talented and fearless knucklehead could be exactly what turns a dysfunctional offense into one big happy family.

Expect the unexpected.

Do you mean one heappy gang family?

JR runs to his own beat. Big deal. Unless you have evidence to the contrary, the gang reference is inappropriate and narrow minded.

We won't do **** in the playoffs when we only have two scorers on the roster. that offense is way too predictable.

I could totally see us as the darkhorse lowerseeded East team that no upper seed wants to face once we pick up JR in March.

You don't think the Knicks are desperate for backcourt help?

Think again.

I know you're not expect to know these things but the first clip of him in the topic is him throwing up gang signs.

This is beyond desperate, though. This is just stupid.

a perimeter player who is an elite shooter that can put the ball on the floor and dish? who can create his own offense? for our backcourt-less team? PASS.

Knicks are beyond desperate for shooting and backcourt defending.

was just about to say the same exact thing. any other year, i wouldn't want smith, but yes, knicks are desperate and smith does fill a few roles that we desperatey need (scoring, 3pt shooting). is jr a knucklehead? yes. does he shoot too much? i'm sure ill be yelling at the tv some nights. but overall smith will be a great addition to a team with solid leadership in melo, amear, and chandler. and oh yeah, like martin also said, he'll undoubtedly be on a short contract.

Let me go on record in agreeing that JR SMITH could be a good short term signing
who fills a (yes) DESPERATE need for us.
Does this mean that we need to start another fan club, misterearl?

Please stop.

Baron Davis is not the headcase Smith is. Nuggets fans were celebrating his departure.

Also, this Baron Davis is the savior thing needs to be dropped. People are going to be disappointed when they see he isn't going to make as much as an impact as they hoped for. He's still a decent player but at this point in his career you are expecting a lot if you think he'll be the main reason for a team turnaround.

Carmelo was the leader in Denver and Smith was acting like a fool.

Amare's leadership is still in question.

Chandler is the only guy on the team that commands respect since he has a ring.
