Yes, he has many problems. At this point in his career his physical years are not decreasing, but increasing; he will only get older.

What do you think he will drop?

I guess 8 points with 5 assists in 20 minutes.

15 points, 10 assists if you go by the posts about him here.

We don't need him to score, just to distribute the ball.

Yeah Baron won't have to carry the team, but just so these clowns can understand how good he still is:

I don't think some Knick fans realize how good Davis still is. He was REALLY good last year when he played. This herniated Disc is a real issue, but if he can get past it. He's a better PG for this team than Felton or Billups were. Dude could still dunk the ball last year, so he seems to still have plenty left in the tank. I can only guess that the Knicks feel he can make it back from the disc problem or else why take him?

We will when BD starts playing. I'm happy he's here and excited to watch him run the o.

I don't get the sob story with this guy....

Chris Paul has ****ty Knees but everyone wanted him. There's no doubt that Paul was worth a long term commitment. He's putting up his regular numbers in clipper land. Baron has had his issues. He's been traded a few times and has been hurt before. One thing that hasn't changed is his production. He was traded to Cleveland and never missed a beat. He bust the Knicks ass last year so you know what he can do. Why wouldn't he come in and at least put down 15 and 7? He might be rusty so maybe 12/7? When he's rolling and the team is settled in why wouldn't he average 17/10 with this offense? Come playoff time there isn't a better point guard to have out there than Baron and he's proven that.

I mean he's proven alot in his career...if you compare highlights Baron is more impressive than any point guard you can put out there. The dude can pass the hell out of the ball. His handle is one of the best the NBA has to offer. He can shoot it and play defense. He's fearless. He also loves new York and is not gonna puss out like some guys have in a knick uniform.

Were not getting Steve Francis, or marbury. He's not a head case kind of a guy. He's never showed that in his career.

Am I a big fan of Baron but I'm critical of guys who flat out suck like Landry freak in fields! I'm hoping the guy can come in and play well and you never know because of injury. But there is no evidence this guy is gonna comee in and all of a sudden be Howard freakin Eisley!!!!

Chris Paul injuring his knee for one season does not compare at all to a 32 year old guy who has a herniated disc and has only played a full season 4 times in his career and never played more than 65 games in a season 6 times of his career due to injury.

But has the guy ever played horrible in his career? Will he all of a sudden become Scott Brooks?

I saw him in his first game as a Cav, Melo's second game with the Knicks. He looked great and was a big part of why the Knicks lost. If he is good he will be a big help.

A little update on his prgress from Berman:

OKLAHOMA CITY – What's on Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni's mind? Not only the return from injury of Carmelo Anthony, but also the looming Knicks debut of Baron Davis.

Davis is getting closer and closer to returning from a herniated disk and a person familiar with the situation said the guard will take a big leap in his rehab this week by starting full running drills and some contact basketball drills.

It’s not out of the question for him to be cleared for practice by next weekend and a late-January debut has become more likely than not.

Last night after the Knicks lost, 104-92, to the Thunder, D’Antoni said optimistically, “Melo will be back pretty soon and hopefully Baron’s around the corner and we’ll see what we got.’’

Davis doesn’t want to get his hopes up.

“Once I get that approval, I’ll be ready to go,’’ Davis told The Post. “I need to get the OK from the trainers. The approval will come when it’s the right time. I don’t want to be too optimistic. I want to take it day to day.’’

“But I can honestly say I’m making new strides and improvement. I want to focus in on that and that’s all I can control.’’

So looking like 2 weeks to go- I suspect he could play slightly sooner, but wants to be in peak shape, which is why he'll take a bit longer. His return gives us hope!

In these stressful times, lets all just chill and watch some Baron Davis highlight vids, that may or may not have been posted before:

Thank you. The videos are great. He is an all NBA talent, no question. However, not a single PnR play there, I hope old dog can learn new tricks . If he doesn't- MDA is gone, because without PnR MDA is below average offensive coach. If he learns PnR we are going to the finals, baby. As far as his averages with us go he will have 15 and 11

This is what he did to us last year in his freak in cavs debut....brand new to his team and comes to the garden and busts our ass. I have no doubt when he is ready to play he will come in locked, loaded and ready to shoot.....and pass lol

He's already doing non contact drills, doing work with the coaches beating them with the pads. They say he was always doing everyday things we all do to stay in shape. He's stepping up basketball related stuff....so as soon as he practices he will be ready to roll. Probably on the road trip coming up!
