Our defensive performance isn't as good as it seems, but we aren't a team that doesn't play defense anymore. It has improved a lot and we are actually somewhat good at it, for the most part. However, if us and the Knicks want Chuck to shut his yap and eat crow, then it's simple. Continue playing defense and improving at it, rebound the dang ball (It seems like we are doing better at it) and start taking smarter shots. This goes to Amar'e, Melo, Shump, Douglas AND Fields. All 5 are guilty of taking bad shots.

Barkley knows very little about sports. That's why he has thousands of dollars in gambling debts. He doesn't lose those sports bets over and over and over again for no reason.
Surely you can't be serious. I am serious. And don't call me Shirley.

For all the bombs being thrown at Barkley (without any rebuttal with evidence of facts), there is one thing being missed.

Sir Charles could be right.

Assists (trust) and shooting percentage (poor shot selection) is not good enough for the Knicks to be a contender for a title.

We have just one component - 2 stars... That's about it.
Other 27 components for contender are still to be found.
Not sure if the goal is to work those hard to get them all...

Barkley is just REAL jealous of knicks for two reasons:

1)HE remembers his buddy Patrick Ew Knicks swept 76ers in 1989 playoffs
in famous Knicks take out "Broom" on court at the end

Knicks Deep-six Sixers
http://articles.philly.com/1989-05-03/sports/26114362_1_sixers-footer-with-six-seconds-overtime/2

BROOM Game#3 clincher

2)Barkey hates NY and Knicks period cause he felt Pat Ew was disrespected. Even when Knicks was good with Ewing
Barkey never gave NY credit & lost his "tough guy" image when he played vs. Charles Oakley Knicks since Oakley
used to beat Barkey's butt physically on court. Charles won the scoring end Oak won the emotionally end.

Thus when Barkey was 76ers, a SUN and later a Rocket he hated losing to Knickerbocker teams.
Good for him ! Knick fans love to diss Charles whom deserves it.

I don't see why some of you guys seem so offended.

Can we beat the Heat or the Bulls in a 7 games series?

If no, and because we'll cross one of them at least in eastern semi-finals, then we're not even close to contend.

I think taht right now, baring injuries to the other big teams, another trade or Baron making a miracle comeback, we don't stad a chance against Miami or Chicago.

Call that pessimistic maybe, but I don't see how we can beat them with the bench we have, there is such a talent dropoff after our big three it's scary.

On the Knicks:

They're not very good

They don't play defense

They don't rebound the ball

They don't have a point guard

Baron Davis health cannot hold up to run D'Antoni's system

On Iman Shumpert:

I like him. He's more of a 2 guard though

On the Eastern Conference:

They should cancel the rest of the NBA season and have Miami and Chicago play eachother

Only team that could challenge Bulls and Heat are Celtics until they lost Jeff Green

On the Western Conference:

Clippers have no backups

OKC is a jumpshooting team, not enough low post scoring to win NBA title

Best team in west is the Portland Trailblazers

Really take a look at this, and tell me again that he's wrong..I think the bulls are over rated, but he's really dead on with his assesment..Right now in the early parts of the season, he's totally right. Obviously things can change later on, but I can't see how you can argue most of his points.

We don't have a PG
We don't play consistant D
We don't rebound consistantly
And we don't know what the hell Baron davis will give us, or when he's actually going to play
shrump showed us tonight that he's no pg
So how good are we?

Its not a snapshot, its an album.

We aren't there yet as a team. We are battling injuries and the ineffectiveness of really playing our system to perfection. But the season isn't about winning the most games for its sake. You win the most games while completely mastering your game, your system and having everybody on the same page.

I'd rather be the team that just did enough to get in the playoffs and is peaking at the end of the season than a team that is dominating early but will fade at the end.

As much as I want to disagree with Sir Chuckles he is not totally wrong. They haven't played consistent D yet. While we have 2 strong rebounders in Melo and Ty all our other positions are below average and even Fields. Baron Davis' health IS a question, though I don't think it is because of the system. And I found myself thinking last night when was the last time we had a pure legitimate starting quality PG as opposed to trying to shoehorn either backups (Duhon, Eisley, Frank Williams), converted 2 guards (Iman, Douglas, Chauncey, Felton, Francis, Special Nate), reclamation projects (Marbury, Penny, Baron). Looks like Felting was are purest PG of the last
12 years or so.

Hell when was the last time there wast at least one position that had a player playing out of position? The mid 90's

our play has yet to prove otherwise. We've lost to bad teams, barely won other games.

Ouch

"I don't think Baron can hold up enough to run Mike D'Antoni's system," Barkley said. "Baron's been a terrific player in his day, but it ain't his day anymore."

I think it's higher than 1-0. Everytime he opens his mouth about the Knicks, or Knicks are on TNT, the Knicks never ever prove him wrong.
