How many of you guys would trade Amare, Fields, TD, and Jorts for Ray Allan and KG?

KG would compliment Tyson Chandler and anchor our defense to another level.
With KG and Ray Allan at their age, would Boston consider forming another Big 3 in

Rhondo
Pierce
Amare

not sure if Paul Pierce still has good value with his contract and age.
I wouldn't be surprised if Pierce gets amnestied next year and Boston will look to rebuild in the summer
with FA's and decide who they will keep with KG/Allen or both...

Ray Allan looks great this year, at his age of 37-38, he is looking for an extension and it wouldn't be cheap.
Our worse case scenario is loosing our young lings and we allow KG/Allan to walk while being under the cap again this summer.
It could put us in the hunt again for another player? Dwight Howard or Deron?

So I think its a decent deal if Boston is willing to take a risk on Amare's contract.
I think Boston will ask for Iman though...

good trade for Knicks
good trade for Boston
Great trade for both teams
horrible for Knicks
horrible for Boston
wouldn't part with Jorts
wouldnt part with Fields
wouldnt part with TD
Knicks are giving up too much
not worth breaking up chemistry

Only you and me feel it would be an upgrade so far...
I don't understand how players can complain about the team, our weakness, our lack of identity, and its holes then shoot down this trade proposal like its a no brainer to not do...
We all agree Amare and Melo are both not even average defenders and I come up with this proposal and I get some of these responses
No one is going to trade for Amare in the Blake Griffen or so "all star" status....
I know KG and Allen are past their primes but they are still both very good players.
If the were still in their prime, why would Boston even think about taking Amare's uninsured contract...

Few things. You either have to go with better team after this trade or flexibility to make major moves. If we were to get both why would anyone trade with us, esp Boston who is in our conference. Second, if we are a better team, it is only for what 4 months ? Two seasons? Probably less. If it is to get more flexibility, no way Boston does this, since they will need to rebuild before us, all things taken in consideration. Last but not least, when/if healthy we have a better roster than Boston RIGHT NOW. We should concentrate our efforts on filling in the gaps and making this thing work, with or without coaching changes.

Ray Allen is still one of the best shooters in league

Chandler + KG would be sick defensively and his shot consistent.
KG is fine with playing defense and being 2nd 3rd option, he doesn't need to score to be effective.

They are both expiring contracts this summer as well.
Everyone complains about Amare's uninsured contract and while KG and Allan are no longer young, they learned to play with their brain and adjustments already.
They are still top players in their position.

My opinion, without giving up Iman, its a no brainer for the Knicks.
Worse case scenerio, we contend this year and go for the around a max player in the summer.

Fields is a unrestricted FA
TD
Jorts

they are good role players that will improve but the way they both play, i can see how it can disrupt chemistry.

Great plan if the season was 15 games long. But it's not. KG doesn't play with his brain mostly his mouth. I love Ray Allen but not in a trade for Amare.

Man KG over STAT is a Diss to STAT IMO. STAT has been a beast in the playoffs and this time he has a chance to be a PF rather than having to play C as he did in PHX. The C's had no answer for STAT before he tweaked his back. I think NY fans haven't had the chance to see STAT in BEAST MODE in the playoffs. He's proven that he can raise his level of play in the big moment. He doesn't shrink like some players. KG used to be that guy, but he's not able to sustain that anymore.

Yeah but the defensive difference is monumental. Though, I would not make this trade

Yea KG is more solid but he wasn't stoppin STAT at all when STAT was healthy, so so much for the D KG plays. KG is more of a really solid team defender but having STAT gives us an edge at that position. STAT is so disruptive to a teams defense when he's rolling. He's constantly getting to the line.

Yeah - I can't disagree. How great would it be if STAT devoted himself (it's never too late) on defense. LJ did it when he came to the knicks - he can too. It's like he does not realize or fathom that this is separating him from true greatness. He is definitely doing a better job rebounding this year but still often forgets or does not botter to box out his man. It is so frustrating - as fans you want to just grab him and scream at him but I am sure that has bee done already (I hope)

The ONLY person I would trade Amare for is DH. Dude has earned my support.

Dwight is dominant and young. KG is not dominant and old. KG is still a high level player, but I just can't take him over STAT at this point. Howard is on another level. Your talking the best big in the game. No one would turn down Howard.

Exactly why I wouldn't do it. Like I said I have a good deal of respect for Amare - Yes he took the money and he really doesn't play good defense but he also ignited the re-birth of this franchise after tha lost decade. For that we owe him loyalty and I wouldn't just throw him around on trade discussions. ONLY for very special situations would I consider it.

In the short term, it has an outside shot at a championship. In the long term, it's a disaster and Boston is saved from an obnoxious rebuilding process. I would pass.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

This deal is far-fetched but I have been wondering if it's time for Boston to trade Ray and KG while they can still get something for them.

This trade would limit our championship window as much as Boston's is right now.

That time was before last season. It's all over for them. If I'm the Lakers, they can have Steve Blake for KG.

we all know Dwight Howard is a beast but no way Orlando would trade him for Stat.
this is exactly what I mean about people in the forum here.
Its like they want absolute impossible deals like

Fields
TD
Jorts

for

Kobe

the scenario with Boston allows the Knicks to rebuild/reshape the roster if it doesnt work out and we will still be competing this year.
Also the same people complain about Amare's "medical condition" without the amnesty to use anymore
But they are only willing to trade him for Dwight Howard....SMH

how about Amare for Kevin Love? Love doesn't sound like he wants he will sign an extension with the Wolves...
I think the Knicks have to sweeten it up somehow and it wouldnt be till the summer if its possible.

our cap room is tied to 3 people now, you have to pick your poison if you want to add talent to finish up the roster
or
just pray people come for a discount, but of course they will be aged vets...
