I think you gotta say bye to novak. But why is a Guy like bogans a free agent to begin with? He's a rotation Guy.

No-way MDA cuts his pure shooter. Lin is the likely cnadidate to be cut...

probably right.... Getting Keith would cause a problems cuz when baron is back you got td on the bench. If Bibby is gonna hit the three now, where would the minutes fall? Bogans is not a bum

With Shump's arrival at PG and Bibby's revival along with Davis waiting on the wings, you can guess who would be cut. Lin hasn't had a good opportunity to show his worth, but I doubt he will for Mike D. We need better backcourt play and this signing would do wonders to it. I think this does leave TD in a bad spot. Wouldn't be surprised if he is traded for a PG/SG.

Bogans would definitely take Bill Walkers Mins. Have to factor in injuries, because lets be honest, Bibby will be in and out of the line up due to injuries similar to Billups last year. Bogans can give you that corner 3 plus D which Bibby isn't going to give you. When Bibby's jumper is off, he needs to take a seat.

I would move Feilds to back-up 3, and have a backcourt of Baron, Shump, Douglas, Bogans and Bibby. You just have to coach game by game. If we need more offense, Bibby will get more mins than Bogans and if we need to tighten up the defense on the perimeter, Bogans will get the mins behind Shump.

Walker is not getting it done. Dude is an offensive foul machine.

Im surprised Bogans is out there.

How bad is TD's shoulder?

This is how I feel about it. D'antoni id and some fans care too much about hurting feelings imo

The potential signing makes a ton of sense. TD is nothing special on D and I was never sure why people thought he was. He gets bodied by bigger guards and blown past by smaller ones (this yr - Wall, Rondo).

I agree with the rotation you mention, but I actually see TD and Bibby flip flopping their minutes for whoever is hot from the perimeter. Bogans and Shump will be able to give some great defensive efforts against the better guards in the East.

I hope this is true and not just a rumor.

If we can sign Bogans. You sign him and play him. all bibby can do is shoot the three. A guy like Bogans can shoot the 3 and play good D. We need someone who can help Shumpert contain guys from getting in the paint. He can guard two guards and most ones. So when we get stuck on switches we aren't so miss matched like we are when it's TD and Bibby.

The papers are playing up TD aggravating the shoulder he had operated on in the offseason- maybe he if he's going to be out a while, that's why we'd sign Bogans suddenly. He was a much ridiculed player among Bulls fans last year- kind of like the Jared Jeffries of SG- good defender but aside from 3's (and his percentages aren't great), he is awful offensively. I remember last offseason, Roger Mason was considered the better of the two players leaving SA.

If true, it's not a signing to get excited about.

Also in all likelyhood, this is probably yet another example of a player using a 'going to sign with the Knicks' rumour to get signed with another team!

Wouldn't mind making a trade for a guy like Marco Bellini.

If the Knicks are signing a defensive shooting guard, that doesn't bring much scoring, he should, at the very least, be fast enough to slow down Dwyane Wade a little bit. Don't think a player in his thirties fits that description.

he's 31, not 35. And we are talking bench minutes, not starter minutes.

I can't see why the Knicks sign Bogans. He wasn't good enough to stay on the Bull's roster, and I don't understand what the attraction to bring him to the Knicks. Please educate me as to why we need someone with his skill set? I would rather keep Lin on the roster so we can find out if we can use him, and let Mike Bibby play as a shooting guard.

There are a lot of good reasons why Bogans is NOT on the Chicago roster and which could point to more of a $ and roster spots than with his individual play.

Let's start with the obvious facts: he did start for Chi all of last year, so it would seem he has some sort of playable skills.

Also, Richard Hamilton came on to the market and the Bulls thought they could go for an upgrade.

Right now Chicago is paying Hamilton $5M, Brewers $4.7M, and Kyle Kover $5M all to play some minutes at the SG position... Bogans had a team opt out this year so they didn't owe him anything.

Bogans plays defense and is a spot up 3 point shooter, something the Knicks need and IMHO were hoping that Walker could fill. If Shump is starting and TD continues to be awful, the Knicks surely do need a big SG defender.
