Please educate me as to why we need someone with his skill set? I would rather keep Lin on the roster so we can find out if we can use him, and let Mike Bibby play as a shooting guard.
There are a lot of good reasons why Bogans is NOT on the Chicago roster and which could point to more of a $ and roster spots than with his individual play.
Let's start with the obvious facts: he did start for Chi all of last year, so it would seem he has some sort of playable skills.
Also, Richard Hamilton came on to the market and the Bulls thought they could go for an upgrade.
Right now Chicago is paying Hamilton $5M, Brewers $4.7M, and Kyle Kover $5M all to play some minutes at the SG position... Bogans had a team opt out this year so they didn't owe him anything.
Bogans plays defense and is a spot up 3 point shooter, something the Knicks need and IMHO were hoping that Walker could fill. If Shump is starting and TD continues to be awful, the Knicks surely do need a big SG defender.
