You know what, I might be inclined to agree over the short term. He isn't hitting baskets, he isn't really rebounding or playing D consistantly, and he is a black hole on offense which has turned into too many iso/TOs.

Not that they were stellar, but Novak and Jorts had some good roatations and defensive awareness as second line guys in their minutes against Lakers.

yeah, just meant for right now. long term, i think amar'e might look better when baron starts playing. but for right now, might be better to get amar'e the rest and let the rest of the group be forced to step up.

i see 35-40pts for melo tonight. which, granted, is not a long-term plan for success.

longer term, i think this team might need to think about making amar'e and melo be the centerpiece of different lineups throughout the game. maybe the first quarter after amar'e sits, melo leads a group built around tyson and toney. then amar'e and bdiddy come in with a pick and roll unit. dunno, just a thought.

i think the cohesion between stat and melo is a major issue and not sure even baron solves it.

I don't expect to win tonight without Amare shump & baron. Not enough scoring alongside melo. And without a PG might be brutal to watch.

Jorts has been dying to play against Cousins. It will be nice to see some guys get extra minutes. Maybe someone, Jorts, Novak, Jordan, or Lin can have a coming out game like Moz did last year when Amare was hurt and Shawne was suspended.

IMO Jorts will start in Amare's place. The kid has hustle.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

SACRAMENTO – Amar’e Stoudemire is out for tonight’s game at Sacramento with a sprained left ankle, according to a person familiar with the situation.
The Knicks have not made it official but Stoudemire is expected to miss his season’s first game when the Knicks conclude their California trip vs. the Knicks at 8 p.m. Stoudemire sprained his ankle Thursday in the fourth quarter in LA after rolling to the basket off a pick and getting hit by a Lakers player. Stoudemire tumbled to the court and left the game.
Stoudemire did not practice yesterday and was receiving “a bombardment of treatment.’’ But with the Knicks back home Monday vs. Toronto, the Knicks will give Stoudemire a rest. Stoudemire has said during training camp he may miss a few games to rest his bumps and bruises.

It should be interesting to see the team play minus STAT. SO far he hasn't been on his game and with no PnR PG he's back to having to force the issue. This is how he looked to start last year before Felton got the hang of things. I think it's crystal clear that you have to have at the very least "decent" PG play with this roster or else the finishing abilities of the players we have go wasted. STAT, Tyson, Fields, Novack... Really just about everyone on the team needs to be fed the ball where they can do what they do best... Finish. Either hitting the 3ball or taking it to the hole strong. None of those guys creates their own shot very well. Gotta get something from the PG spot in terms of distributing the ball. Plug in a capable PG and Voila! Everything else falls into place.

We need a win here just to end the road trip on a good note. like I said i will be happy if we are arounf the .500 mark until we get healthy. but getting a win here on the way home will be huge
