I see the facts, I see what is going on, but this is still the Clippers and I will not be on their hay wagon until they are in the Conference Finals.

na.. its talent run league. The Clipps have a top 2 roster in the west right now and CP3 will get that team deep in the playoffs. When the Clippers had Brand, Cassel, Kaman and Mobely they had a pretty good playoff run. Boston won a title first year w/ KG and Ray

Which is why I said "I see the facts". But it's the Clippers, man. It's like the Madden curse.

I love the hate that pointless Blake-hating inspires. The guy's shooting 15 footers off the glass. What do you want him to have, SG skills? The boy's a beast and everything you read about him says he's 15 light-years ahead of any other young NBA phenom in the mentality department. Just hope those knees hold up...

That said, I still can't imagine being a Clips fan. One step above being a Columbus Bluejacket groupie.

One preseason game and we writing off the Lakers?

They got issues for sure.

But I think any deal that brings in Dwight and turkey glue makes them weaker this season.

Deron gives up like $25 mil guaranteed by not staying where his bird rights are.

Nets either Get Dwight or trade Deron.

Aside from Dwight is there a better frontcourt player in the NBA? Guy gets 22/12/4assists and shoots over 50% his rookie year and people are saying his face up game will get exposed. Wow

Agreed. A guy who can produce like that shouldn't be taking too many jump shots. :) If he had a reliable jumper? It'd make his moves in the paint that much more devastating.

In any event, he should have just jumped over Gasol.

the jumper will come. Amare was everything point blank, now his jumper is money. Ewing was the same way. We could do this all day. He will evolve and get better. Or he will snap in half

This is what Cp3 brings to the team, he is now the leader of this squad, and Blake Griffen will have to adjust.
This can hurt Griffen's stats but makes the team much more productive as whole. As great as Cp3 is, we didn't have the talent to build around him, after a Melo trade.
I think Cp3 makes the team much more efficient, of course there are questions of injury with his size and past.
I would have much preferred Cp3 or Deron over Melo.

Would it have ever been possible *sign and trade* for Cp3, if we never graded for Melo, and would we still be looking/able to acquire Tyson Chandler?
While Baron Davis is no slouch, Cp3, if healthy, single alone, improves the players around him *thus a real PG*, to a totally other level?
We really can't complain though, of the team we got, we just need time for them to gel, where as Cp3 has the quickness and IQ to instantly make players around him 3x better!

I watched most of this game last night, and it could have very easily been worse; Blake didn't play particularly well. I think the Lakers are in big trouble this year. They've been thin since they lost to Boston in the Finals and they traded Odom and Shannon Brown for nothing this offseason. Their five best players are Kobe, Gasol, Bynum, Josh McRoberts, and ?, I can't name a fifth but I guess it would have to be Metta World Peace. Then you figure between the suspension, his injuries, and the rest they'll give him to try and make sure he doesn't get hurt, Bynum will probably miss about half the year. I honestly believe that they're going to struggle to finish over .500 and make the playoffs.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Clips just signed Reggie Evans. I think they can be the best team in the West this season. They're scary good. I saw the game and agree that Blake didn't even play particularly well. Scary scary good.

Clips/Knicks finals?

The Clippers?? They have Blake Griffin 6'10" and Deandre Jordan 7'0". That's one of the best frontlines in basketball. DeAndre may be listed at 7'0", but he looks as big and imposing as Dwight now. And he plays with an edge.

They really have very good starting 5 but almost no depth.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Bledsoe, Reggie Evans, Maurice Williams, Ryan Gomes on their bench. their depth is as good as the Knicks, if not better.

I think they will be really good... The consensus is they need a tough playoff loss like all young teams in order to be a legit contender, like the Bulls or Thunder have. I agree with this, and expect the Clips to go far this year but lose to a veteran, experienced (but possibly less talented) squad

Same people are still waiting for Shaq to improve his foulshot to become a real talent.
