best. But there's other candidates. These guys might command higher salaries too... so I'm unsure if they're realistic MLE targets. I do think Thornton and Diogu might take a one year deal to pump up their values and try again next year, and Cook is an obvious role player.

I suppose James Posey is a target as well, however, my assumption is the team would prefer a bigger forward to spell Amar'e

I would love the acquisition of AK47 and Peja*veteran minimum*, because of their high IQs, to go with their versatilities/skill set, veteran leadership, ability to play a lower but crucial roles, and it fills our needs and holes while adding depth as well....

Ak47 seems like he wants the MLE money, we have been saying we are looking for a SF/PF for a week already? If he is really looking for 3-4m, it isn't that much more, however, i think its still possible. I think he is looking at more money at his age,30, it will be his last major chance to earn a good contract. I have a feeling the Spurs might bite, if not, we will probably have a chance if he wants to contend and not be put in a rebuilding situation at the trade deadline with the Nets, We can offer

1) 2 years at 5.1m
2) a good team defensive core, with him leading our 2nd unit, and most importantly a contending championship caliber team
3) a system that is allows freedom and gives them the ability to make plays
4) everyone would like to feel important to the team and besides the Spurs, we could offer him the ability to come in to sub in at SF, PF, and Center. 66 games is though, at their
point of careers, they will have to decide if they are going for the money or the best possible chance to win a title. With the amount of games to play in limited days, preserving
their stamina, playing at a fast pace or slow pace of our choice, and allows them to rest their bodies in minutes with our "All Stars" in ATM, would love to add another A n P
on to our core with Ak47, Peja, and Shumpert

Doubtful he'd sign for the 2.5M, but he's not in Jersey yet.

Just saw that too, why can't we get this guy? We can use the outside shooting.

Willie Warren just got waived today. He'd be a nice project, but we have a ton of guards all of the sudden.

Almost seems like we should make a trade to clear up roster space, but we really don't need much. Moving TD, Fields, Jordan might get you a better 2/3 reserve than what we have. Maybe that would get us Ariza back.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I mean we could have tried to convince him. He was still playing reasonable backup role for the Mavs.

A guy we heard about in the beginning of free agency & still is a free agent:

Alexis Ajinca

This guy is 7-1 220lbs. A shot blocker & 3 point shooter and he's only 23 yrs old.

Peja would have been nice. I always thought he would have worked well in Dantoni's offense. But leaving the league at a high point is a smart idea, especially in this shortened seasons. It really takes a beating on the body playing so many games in such a shortened amount of time. Maybe he takes a nice breather and comes back during the all star break.
Yahoo or RealGm have him listed at 32 years of age, while the reports are saying hes retiring at 35.

About the minutes, in this shortened season, Dantoni can't just play 8 or 9 guys. He has to extend his bench and even look to play guys he normally wouldn't in a regular season.
I say about every 3rd or 4th game, some 10+ guys on the roster play some minutes just to relieve the roster. This is why I would like to extend the depth of the bench
and add some more quality players. A team like how Denver was last year, would greatly benefit the roster. We are no where as deep as them last year, however, we have to find a way
to preserve our starters and players.

The increased games and less rest, while with around the same minutes is just too much for our stars. Having a roster of 15 deep, while rotating the minutes of the bench and the 12 actives/inactives as well. Amare, Chandler, and Melo will have to rotate efficiently, as our offense will suffer when they are out. They aren't young guns anymore, would be ideal to give them more rest and keep them fresh, prevent injuries, and ready for the playoffs. I expect big things from Iman, TD, and Jorts. If Balkman can produce it will be great, seriously, if JJ can play 20-30minutes a game last year, Balkman should be able to give us 15-18minutes on some nights. His offense is a lot better than Jeffries and our opponents offense literally wouldn't play 5 vs 4. I don't want to watch "pick on Jeffries, dare him to score" cause that is the defense they will play, when he is in....

Novak shot better than 50% from 3 in limited time. That's all I can think of.

Actually saw Anjica listed on nba.com at 7-2 248lbs. Dude was picked 20th overall in 2008. Could be a nice prospect for cheap.

being coached by the Spurs is a good thing. He does look like he has a nice stroke and knows how to move without the basketball. There aren't many shooters available left and I am really not interested in Redd, being out for 3 years, and at that age, no thanks. He will be our version of Shawne Williams without the D. lol

Reggie Evans... no doubt. We have talented scorers. Get me a premier lunch pale dude. He's great in 3 guard sets because he tracks the long boards like Rodman used to

I wonder who they are targeting with their 2.5m? is there someone they are targeting? Was it even offered to Baron Davis as a 2 year deal? Or is Davis looking to pull a Raymond Felton
boosting his stats on this team? then go for a 2-3year deal MLE like?

KMart. If Knicks grab someone like Novak I see Kmart on their horizon. Tough dude, playoff tested. Can come off bench and provide beefiness at the 4 spot with Jorts at the 5.
