Cap space? You can buy more eggs if you buy them on sale. But doesn't that increase the chances that one or two of the eggs might be bad? When you buy a player at a huge price discount from his last contract, don't you think there are substantial risks involved with that purchase? Why would you bring in a player with a chance for jeopardizing the team's chemistry? One guy who is complains or simply isn't trying, is enough to negatively affect the performance of the rest of the team.
There are almost an unlimited number of players we can get for the league minimum. But we need to chose wisely and not just think about how much potential bang we can get for our bucks. It is amazing how many really good NBA players, have reached a point in their careers, where they have more than enough money, and they simply longer are willing to put in a full effort anymore. Buyer beware.
