way better than the laker package, no? now if the Nets trade for Howard then you have 3 players from the 2008 draft (Gallo, Lopez, Gordon) traded for 3 of the top superstars to move teams in the last year.

i think it's a fair trade for both sides.

excited to see CP3 to Blake.

gonna be fun out west.

Watch the Lakers make a BIG push for Dwight now (thinking they'll offer Pau and Bynum)

The pick was the thing, Minny will suck forever.

CP3/Blake is going to be an awesome duo...but can you imagine the Clips trading away the #1 pick in back to back years?

I agree about Gordon. He is very good. I think the Clips messed up including him in the deal.

I think NOH specifically demanded both Gordon and Minny pick after they rejected the first Clipper offer. They wouldn't trade Paul unless they got both.

It's possible Clips screwed up, but they got the best player in the deal. This is an incredible deal for the Hornets. Looks like Stern was right by rejecting those deals. They get 2 incredible assets in Gordon and the Minn pick, plus other assets. They now have the opportunity to rebuild around Gordon and 2 very high draft picks. That is as good as it's going to get. They got way better value than Nuggets and Jazz did for their stars.

They had to make the deal fair and adding Gordon made it more fair. Otherwise it's too much of a one sided deal. As it is I think they could've added another pick. Still it's a good trade LAC. Only way it's good for NOH is if they get a top 3 pick.

I am surprised New Orleans kept Ok4, he might do better with a legit C next to him that can produce.
It's possible his value will actually gain, good trade by both teams.
Would have thought Mo Williams would be added and somehow another player added in with Ariza or adding up to Ok4?

It is tricky about Wolves pick, on paper, they have lots of young talent.
They are just adding more to it as well, with most of it being together for a year at least?
Think they should be better, depending on how hard their guys worked during off seasons.
So their pick can range in the West, no one saw Thunder coming out that strong on Westbrook's 2nd year?
So I think their pick can range quite a bit.

Clippers kept Mo Williams as a possible amnesty target?
He has a player option, he isn't that bad of a contract if he can just hit his 3's.

They have

Cp3
Billups

Foye
Mo Williams
Bledsoe

At least one will get moved or waived?

ITs a better deal because NO got the young assets it wanted and the team more marketable.

Not so good for Demps and Monte who are not gonna have big fun this year.

But, They can play Kaman at the 4 next to Oka4 which is not that bad.

also depends on if Gordon is healthy and resigns or not too.
Gordon play the PG first on LA then SG when they added Baron Davis came back, then traded for Mo Williams.

Imagine Davis gets picked up by the Clippers LOL

I want to say that I read Bledsoe had meniscus repair recently, so he may be out for a month plus. Coupled with the fact that Billups on a 1 year deal and a grueling season schedule, why change anything?

Uh. I think some are forgetting this is the same deal offered by the Clippers on Monday. The Hornets wanted Bledsoe too.

So the Clips got a STEAL.

Jordan
Griffin
Butler
Billups/Williams
Paul

Sick Lineup.

Loser: NBA Commissioner David Stern

Stern’s NBA career is winding down and this will wind up being far more than a footnote on his legacy, given the many, many implications of his handling of the trade as overseer of the league-owned Hornets. The conflict of interest is too great and the harm done to the losers, as laid above, is irreversible. Everyone’s glad this sage is over but the ill effects will be felt for years.

I disagree. I think Stern did the right thing here. Was he supposed to allow the Hornets to make that horrible trade with the Lakers and be saddled with a bunch of overpaid players on the downside of their career?

At least this trade allows them to re-build. It's a much better trade.

I have to say, I think this trade redeems him. This is a 100% better trade than the original with the Lakers and Houston. He made the right move for both Chris Paul and for the Hornets.

The clips got no big man in that deal..everybody knows you don't trade big for small

Yeah, Stern actually gave NBA GMs a blueprint for how to trade a superstar and get the value your team REALLY needs.
