BTW, if the trade goes thru, I love it that CP3 will be a constant reminder to the Lakers that they missed out on this dude. I hate the Lakers.

Strange?

Clippers have Blake Griffin AND are in Los Angeles.

Nets have Deron Williams AND are moving to Brooklyn.

the Clips still have a crap owner in Stirling.

And Deron and Dwight better hope that Tukeyglue remembers how to play basketball cause he'll be their only teammate worth mentioning for about 3 years.

I think so as well. Stern has to explain or lie and say that there was a group of potential buyers for the hornets who would've backed out if the original trade went through, its that simple.

I never thought the original deal made much sense considering the salaries NO was taking back and the lack of good picks. Why should a team on the rebuild be saddled with 30 million in salary and Lamar Kardashian who is over 30 past his prime and making big $$$?

better to get young players, picks and a fresh start.

this is crazy talk. Penny Hardaway totally made the Marbury trade worthwhile

Sterling is a terrible owner but he was willing to spend when the Clippers were slight good.

Jordan
Griffin
Butler
Gordon
Paul

That lineup is no joke and that front court is VERY athletic. If their competing I think Sterling would spend a little.

Who did Dwight have in Orlando? Jameer Nelson? lol. Dwight + Deron Williams is no joke.

Stern definitely saved face here. This deal is WAY better considering the potential for that Minny pick. And it's better for the league, too. Having another sterling team in the second biggest market is a smart executive decision. Dwight will go to the Lakers still and there will be a solid rivalry out West.

I like it (but still hate Stern because he's a super douche).

Can someone please explain to me how this deal is better than the package they were going to get from LA and Houston. Scola, Odom and Kevin Martin is pretty damn sick IMO and hard to beat, and that would have made them even better than when they had Chris Paul. Are bledsoe and Aminu second comings or something? Not sure about that.

Better upside for the longer run.

Better upside and younger, AND fewer guaranteed dollars, which I'm guessing is a big deal as Gilbert was sqwuaking that the Lakers sent out $40M more in long-term money than they took back.

Some upside... but anything else? Stern just handed the keys to Sterling for championship contention... on a silver platter. Even Sterling isn't dumb enough to deny that trade... Unless Stern just knows for a fact that Paul can't stay healthy, which I doubt he does.

couple of different ways: $$$$$. They get the young guys for a LOT less money, especially for a team that is trying to sell itself.

They get the Minny pick. They get to be crappy this year which will enhance their own pick.

What does Scola, Martin, Odom get you? Boderline .500 team out west for the next 3-4 years who is aging very quickly? And then what?

Win win win for NOH IMHO.

It rumored that LA requested that Eric Gordon name not be floated and if trade blows up Gordon will get extended in LA to make nice.

If this is true, then its a much better trade. Core of Gordon and Kaman with a no. 1 pick in a deep draft could set them up nice for a while. Kaman in last year of contract I think.

the clips are giving up 3 lotto picks (bledsoe, aminu, minn #1) and kaman. that is a ton of talent.

I like that deal for NO much better than, but are there realistic chances of them getting Gordan? Maybe it's better off.

apparently, NO can pick between the minn pick or gordon. i'd take the minn pick.

Not sure. I see Minnys potential to be somewhat good this season.

No guarantee because Donald Sterling is an evil ****

Sterling plan has always been simple. Make a profit.

A few years ago he paid off his notes to buy the team and said he would invest back in personel.

He is doing all this even while his core has been the real estate business.

You really call him a "C.unt"?

He is an absolute scumbag- I honestly don't know how he's still allowed to own an nba team. Here are a couple of articles on some of his career highlights:

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=hill/110905&sportCat=nba

Blake Griffin and CP3 teaming up will be entertaining to watch but it's a real same it's on Sterlings team.
