I like his intensity but that's the only thing I like about him. I just don't think he has any PG skills. No vision, no passing skills what is it that people are so in love with? I almost threw things at the TV when watching him in the platoffs. This guy is the Anthony Randolph of PGs. He doesn't know what his role is and cannot be a solution at PG. beating your own teammates down to the other end in a foot race only to chuck up a 3 pointer with someone's hand in your face is NOT what we need from our PG. being an athlete is great but you need to harness that into you style of play. MDA made Duhon look half decent, and TD still looks like he is a babe in the woods.

how about this perspective: how long does it take for a PG, especially a late round one, to become effective? How about a SG who is making the switch? Especially with a revolving roster?

Felton looked like crap too for a long while.

I'll give TD another year to see what's up.

I like TD but he was extremely frustrating at times last year. I don't see him being capable of evenly distributing the ball to STAT and Melo etc. I can't remember if i've ever seen TD throw an alleyoop! I have more faith that Iman could run the offense than I do TD. That's saying a lot since we've never seen Iman even try yet. Felton and Duhon were not known as great PG's, but both had their best times under MDA. A guard has to have at least something to work with and i'm not sure TD has it. TD could possibly have the least court vision of any guard i've ever seen.

More than anything, the images of him being schooled by Rondo leaves the bad taste in our mouths. With theinclusion of Iman into the lineup, I hope that this situation is resolved.

Thank you. You phrased it much more kindly than I did. I also don't think certain things like court vision an be developed over time of you don't have the basics.

I missed your post.....I basically said the same thing you said. I don't think a bum shoulder is any excuse for such a poor defensive effort. The shoulder may effect shooting but not defense when all he had to do at times was plant his damn feet.

bum shoulder doesnt affect defense? Really? Cmon people. Our guards can now play with a frontcourt that will protect the rim. That and health will be big factors. Time will tell..

it does not effect your being able to stop the damn back peddling and plant your feet. Sure Rondo is quick but you don't let a player run strait at you without trying to stop the ball. That is defense 101. He never once planted his feet to stop Rondo's drive often back peddling right into press row. What does the shoulder injury have to do with that.

My original critique is based on those THINKING HE CAN MAN THE POINT and the guy who said he did good in the playoff's.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

yup. I actually think with Tyson doing the heavy lifting, Amar'e free to roam for weakside blocks - a potential backcourt of Iman and Toney is going to make the defense better than it's been in years.

I think Douglas and whatever pick we get for Turiaf are going to be traded for a PG.

Wasn't there a rumor that Minny would finally get Rubio? How many do they have now?

Rubio is there already. But they traded Flynn I think. And Telfair is not there anymore. Not sure who else they have.

we now we are mad that Douglas with his bad shoulder couldnt stop Rondo? An all star PG who's dominated the best PGs in the league? This guy was getting triple doubles in the playoffs carrying the Celtics when the 'big 3' had flat tires. Can you name a PG in the NBA that Rondo doesnt take into the paint?

I have no problem w/ Douglas faults. We all know them... #1 is probably lack of experience as an NBA PG. But he brings a lot to the table, and it will be a lot easier to defend with this frontcourt protecting the basket

I like Douglas a lot. But he's not a PG. If you watched closely last year you'd see he was missing open guys off of pick and olls ALL the time. STAT even threw his hands up a few times and Melo had some words with him on the court also. His game reminds me a little of Derek Fishers, but without the court vision.

If we didn't need a PG he'd make a perfect 6th man. But he's going to be the piece that gets moved if we try and trade for a PG. Depending on the quality of player we get back, we might have to throw in someone like Fields as well.
