I think the Knicks will essentially be set.

Hopefully they can bring in Jerome Jordon to backup Chandler.

After that they should have some good talent in the backcourt looking to make a splash.

Will be very interesting to see who wins the starting backcourt spots. Fields and Douglas should have the leads, but who the hell knows

http://nba-point-forward.si.com/2011/12/06/details-of-amnesty-provision-emerge/

apparently, I didn't know that any team can't amnesty player that they obtain from a trade, meaning Gilbert or Turkeglu must only be amnestied by Orlando.
So we have no realistic shot at Dwight, if this is true. This might be the one of the factors that caused the Knick's to go after Chandler. Anyone can argue that the addition
of Dwight will make them contenders of championship caliber team. Team's with stars and a nice core, or team's with cap room and young talents, and not to mention their are plenty of team's that have the draft picks with the addition of the above. Basically Dwight will leave in free agency, so they should look to acquire as much assets as they can.

Amnestying a player, you still have to pay for their contracts, not many teams are willing to lose millions of dollar's unless they are over the cap. So far only Jefferson has been amnestied. I am surprised Luo Deng hasn't been even mentioned. Chicago, could make their core stronger if they are willing to do this. For Deng's contract, they could have signed 2 players and possibly more in Deng's talent range. Battier/Prince/Butler/ and Grant Hill. My point is amnestying player's is financially a big hit and not many owners
can actually afford or be willing to do it. I know Chicago's owner has known to be cheap with letting Brand and many talents leave the franchise at their primes.
With the foundation of Rose, Boozer, and Noah, I would think that he is ready to spend the money to better their team. They had a promising year last season, with the best record from both the East and Western Conference, and making the Eastern Conference Finals.

There are going to be a bunch of players cut by MOnday. All of them will want to go to either Miami, New York, Dallas, or the Lakers. Of that group, we are probably the most desirable location for a backcourt player. So we should have our pick of the litter.

I wouldn't want to go to Dallas right now. Other than the tittle and Dirk, they are quickly losing their appeal.

Now, back to the Knicks. The fact that we may have kept Turiaf is excellent. With a move, we have made our frontcourt our strength. Talk about Amare, Chandler, Turiaf, Harrellson and Jordan to rotate at 4 and 5. Too bad we lost Brown in this process, but MDA may have never used him, so we didn't lose much.

Don't sign Jeffries! We have more needs at 1-2. Who is that player we traded to the Mavs? Maybe Rautins or Walker. Hopefully Balkman.

So right now we have DWTDD and Iman at one, Fields and Walker (if he stays) at 2? We still have work to do.

Jerome Jordon needs to be bought out at like 1.5m. He simply isn't worth bringing over. He need's to gain more skill and bulk up, no offense to him, but he isn't worthy of a spot yet. Maybe by next year, he really has to work hard. Until then, he is still a trade chip. We don't have much roster spots this year to waste.

Dantoni want's to go with the veteran that knows his SSOL offense, which probably will fail on TD, it just not his skill set.
TD get's benched for Bibby at starting PG.
Then Iman get's a crack at it and takes over PG duties and garden chants ROY.
Sound's about right, for a regular Knick's starting season schedule.

We come out slightly off and then find go off banging!

I feel like we're going to try and sign Mike Redd with whatever space we have left. Unless Barron Davis falls in our lap.

Bringing in Jerome Jordan as back-up center and/or trade fodder.

Add another 7-footer to the team.

The Post has learned 7-foot center Jerome Jordan, a 2010 second-round draft pick, will be the next addition to the Knicks' roster as he was involved in heavy contract negotiations late last night to bring him to New York, according to his agent Todd Ramasar.

Nice to have Jerome on the team, especially since we had to gift-wrap Turiaf to the Wizards. One thing to look for is a trade exemption from the Wiz. If we do get it, its a nice piece to complement whatever we end up needing.

Right now, this is the team:

C- Chandler, Jordan, Harrellson
PF- Stoudemire, Balkman
SF- Anthony, Jeffries
SG- Fields, Walker
PG- Douglas, Shumpert, Bibby

I still think we have work to do. Shawne Williams should be up there as backup PF. Douglas is not exactly a PG so if we can get another PG (Calling Davis or trading for Sessions with the Turiaf exemption if we do get it) and start him, we are really set. We could sign any SG available for depth.

One Antony Carter type, experienced, older 3rd PG to mentor Shumpert and Douglas would be nice. I dont think there is a real need for a Baron Davis. That said: If we get him for a few cents and hes motivated, I wouldnt mind having him here.

I just like the fact that we should see some more years from Fields, Shumpert and Douglas. No more room for Star Phuching is actually a really good thing for NY.

We still have Shelden behind Amare

We also have Andy Rautins at PG but he might be the player going to Dallas?

Exactly

Which means we should be looking to sign one or two PGs, especially since it seems we haven't signed Bibby.

Mike Bibby is mulling a couple of offers and may not decide until after the weekend. #Knicks are one team in touch with the veteran PG.

There is still hope he won't be a Knick!
