Anyway, this roster is totally ridiculous. We need a playable big and we really do need Shawne Williams back. He and Toney had a stinky playoff, but they are basically our 4th and 5th men and our best shooters offensively...I'd love to upgrade them, but they both could also get a lot better having had more experience in this offense.

He (Shawne) was forced outside his comfort zone in the playoffs. Without Amare he was forced to spot in at Power Forward and Center. Amare playing would have freed him up and allowed him to play the part he was comfortable with. Hell, Amare and Melo allow us to get away with guys like Lazy ass Walker and hustle man fields.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

^ Billy "Sky" Walker is the key to our season. If he finally puts it together and works hard then I see this team going far into the playoffs.

I agree with the hold amnesty for large contract crowd. If you only get it once every 10 years, no need to spend it on Balkman. I love what STAT has done, is doing and hopefully will continue to do for us. That doesn't mean I would waste my only chance of reprieve from an albatross contract should he get injured.

Good decisions are made using your head and not your heart. If it was available earlier I would have held onto it to wipe out Ewing or the water boy as well. No player is more important than the team, I would do what's in the team's best interest if it were up to me.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Not to mention TD might actually be a better player all around with a fully healed shoulder.

between his back and his knees, Amare, even with his tremendous heart, will be so badly slowed down if the injuries persist that he could potentially set the franchise back for many years.

don't forget we traded many first round picks in pursuit of cap space and Melo. by doing so, we really put pressure on this team to play at a very very high level for the next 4 seasons. imagine using the Amnesty on Balkman, witnessing a slowed down Amare limp through the remaining 4 years of his deal, and surrendering high first round picks on a yearly basis. it'd be another down decade at least.

Jayyyyysus! One season and the death watch has begun already. The man singlehandedly made our team relevant again. Let's at least give him another year before we're making plans and configuring contracts/draft picks in prep for kicking the dude under the bus.
You people are a fickle bunch of "fans".

Oh well, at least we're not talking directly about CP3. Oops, sorry.

in fairness, many people questioned the Amare signing due to his pre-existing injuries. now, he's got the back injury to go along with those. would be sorta ironic for the "forget Gallo" crowd to get their panties in a bunch over waiving Amare.

I agree that we need to think long and hard (that's what she said) about who we use this amnesty clause on. That would be a great insurance policy to have in our back pocket if STAT's back injury proves to be a major issue. As for this season, based on the roster as currently constructed I see us as a #5 seed in the East. We definitely need a ton of help inside the paint and as well as someone that can spell Chauncey. Landry Fields needst to find his way in the new offense with Melo and STAT as he looked horrendous in the playoffs.

And that Randolph kid had a tremendous upside potential. I see him as a major trade bait in 5 or 6 years; hopefully we can get him back.
