I just hope they don't amnesty Balkman right now. That would be a bad business move.

in all honesty, i don't understand why they'd wait to amnesty balkman. the dude is dead weight. get him off the team and sign an NBDL kid who will bring it in practice. sign aaron gray. something. anything other than balkman. i loved balkman's hustle when he came into the league, but that hustle is gone. get rid of him now. what other reason would there be to wait?

Amar'es back.

it was a muscle pull - which can be tricky, but not chronic. this isn't like larry bird's back. i'm not worried about his back, i'd still be more worried about his knees.

i'd be most worried about chris paul's knee.

Agreed except this seemed to be a little more than a muscle pull because it seemed like even last August that Amar'e said he couldn't walk. It was worrisome, but hopefully it's fully healed and we have nothing to worry about.

can we afford to fill in the rest of the roster with 3 max players?

Speaking of forgetting Chris Paul, in the 2007-8 season, he was a close second to Kobe. Many felt that Paul should have won, but voters favored Kobe because they thought he was due.

I kinda think we ought to forget about both of them. It seems the new CBA is geared more than ever towards building talent within the confines of an organization and its access to talent through the draft.

Foget em both. I'll take a big body in the middle who can rebound/block a shot or two and a 2nd tier PG. I would love to have Chris Paul run the show but I say NOOOOO to Dwight Howard. Dude will clog up the middle........

To top it off... Douglas is not that bad. This would be the worst decision ever to go after Paul, especially with his f'ed up knees.

I prefer Howard because he is the better player and far above the rest at his position, however I would rather have a dominant PG and serviceable center as opposed to the opposite. I believe we need an elite passing PG to maximize the offensive talent we have in Melo and Stat.

Anybody who feels a top notch pg is not needed..needs to have their head examine.
No way in the world I can ever pick Howard over Paul, especially in md system.

TD will never be a legitimate pg, trust me..

That would only be if Amar'e isn't healthy. I'd be pissed if they just jumped the gun and used it on Balkman. They don't need to use it right now. Lets see how Amar'e does. If Amar'e is healthy, then him AND Dwight would be sick as hell, plus they'd have Melo on the perimeter AND shooters.

Another please for the love of god.... don't use it on Balkman before next offseason. Please? Pretty please? With a cherry on top? Pleeeease?

if the Knicks amnesty Balkman, it will be the surest sign that Isiah is still running the franchise. i do believe you have to save it and give serious consideration to dropping Amare if he isn't healthy. which, knowing back problems and their effect on explosiveness, he probably won't be.

Unrealistic...The Knicks aren't going to release Amare, pay his salary, then sign DHoward...Ain't gonna happen...Take a 60 mil hit for kicks??

Dwight Howard is a 2 point maker in a 3 point shooters game. Yes Dwight is a great player but what has he done for Orlando. They give him the ball and he makes a 2. The other team goes back and makes a 3. After all that Orlando falls behind. Grant you Dwight is a great defensive player. But he can't change a game like Chris Paul. Dwight can't get others involved like CP3.

People will just have to accept that CP3 talk will continue until the Hornets trade him. If he stays the entire season, he'll be a Knick next year. If they trade him I doubt he signs an extension with that new team unless it's LAC or the Knicks. CP3 is playing for the Clippers or the Knicks. I think those are the only two real options. He wants the Knicks, but I doubt he turns down a chance to play with Griffin if the Clips decided to trade for him. The only thing is rumors are that the Clips want Howard more than CP3.

I can understand the Clips wanting Howard instead of CP3. Howard is a beast and fully healthy. CP3 is already on the clock as to when his knee will give out. It's not IF, but WHEN his knee will need surgery again. NY is a city shown to be willing to take a risk on a player with health issues. The odds are greatly in favor of CP3 coming to NY sooner or later. Too many factors pointing in that direction. SO just get used to hearing about it.

it's a GOOD thing to be in a position where we can talk about getting players of that caliber. and hey, if you believe what you hear, it sounds like paul WANTS to be here and is willing to wait it out until next year so he can sign outright. cp3/melo/amar'e is a hell of a trio and if you can find a C that can defend and rebound (jerome jordan fingers crossed) then you've really got something. let's enjoy this place we're at and hope for the best.

Spoken like a true 7 second devotee, Papabear. I forget, what did they say about Dallas and the chip and Tyson Chandler?

We need Dwight if for no other reason so that Woodson will have someone to talk to during those defensive tape review sessions.

Dwight Howard has led garbage teams - teams that wouldn't even win 30 games without him - to 50+ win seasons.

Dwight HOward is the most dominant big in the game, by a lot. He is the most dominant force in the game on both sides of the ball. He is the answer to so many of our weaknesses that it doesn't even make sense. I love Chris Paul, he is the gold standard for PGs as for as I'm concerned. But if u have to choose between big and small in a league devoid of bigs, you choose Big.

This is a no brainer if we have a choice. The issue is, I don't think we have a choice. I havent heard once that Dwight wants to be here, and its pretty clear the CP3 really wants to be a knick.

Please, for the love of God, can we forget about Chris Paul...
