To be honest, I don't think Howard has the mental toughness to play in New York. The guy is a bit sensitive and if the Orlando media gets on his nerves, imagine him dealing with the New York Media. He just doesn't seem to have that get off my nutz attitude you need to thrive in NY.

Melo has it as does Stat. I think CP3 has it though I not part of the Dwight vs CP3 crowd. I would be extremely pleased with either but, I doubt Dwight is the right fit.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Let's just sign both and be done with it.

And then spend all our franchise energy going after

since obviously, Stat is as good as dead.

Add to this the notion that he doesn't want play in cold weather, even if it is just a cover up for dealing with the expectations of NY. You want guys that hunger for the chance to shine in NY with full knowledge that they may fall flat on their faces. Stat and Melo are that. Even though Marbles was that too, he's not on that level. If Dwight doesn't think he can handle NY like LeBron, then let him hoop elsewhere. NYC and MSG is the epitome of where every player should want to be in the NBA, especially if you are part of team that hangs another banner. Legends and loved for life...your great great grandchildren (and maybe beyond) will be treated like royalty.

Hopefully that's not because we will not have another chip between now and then.

I have been going back and forth over the who we should focus on and I'm starting to lean toward Howard. My thinking is Melo, Amare, and Dwight would make a guy like Ramone Sessions look like an all-star. We'd have a MONSTER front court present. Think Memphis Grizzlies front court dominance.

We would have to rename the team as the NY Cerebrus (Three headed monster) - on;y Ramon Session would beat all three of them down te floor and try to score on his own :(

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

please calculate how rich you must be before you are willing to take a $62,000,000, after Arean's gets signed for what 2-3m? at best?
so you do the math. I am not sure Dolan will even do this one. Its not about talent, its about taking a big loss.

Humpries - agrees to sign and trade
Lopez - 3rd year coming up, dont know if he will stay

what else do they have? that's attractive

Anthony Morrow?

I don't think Nets will take back Arean's contract, heck I am not sure they will even take Turkeglu's and his contract is a lot more feasible than Areana's

Im asking New York to give Amare or Melo and expirings for Dwight and Areanas.
They can redeal those guys for draft picks and subtract $40mill in salary next year.
It might take a 3rd team to complete.
