Class warfare, Karl Marx, some sloppy sexual insult, growls and groans... great stuff. Real pearls before swine quality commentary. At least I learned the word "hoon".

Always happy to expand the liberal vocabulary.
Actually, I believe MSNBC coined the term for common use when Palin came on the scene.

Gotta love posts that start with "Ha!" and "It's common knowledge..." oink oink

Can't wait for the folks at the NCSE to learn this one at the water cooler, while we are on break from crushing human ethics with science homework.

Has anyone told this idiot that Marx is dead?

I find it odd that Fox News Republicans keep saying that while we're first hand experiencing the tragedies of unmitigated capitalism

What's mitigated capitalism? Capisocialism? Sociocapitalism? Trickledown Marxism?

It'll never happen; some hoons might be linked to ID. <--see the smiley face. And you're creating, not crushing ethics through the elegant beauty of evolution in the classroom. Don't need any homework for that; just listen, read and believe. Repeat as necessary.

Now what were the chances of that happening? I mean, either sentence.

Amazing getting into that much hot water after one game. Even Starbury lasted longer than that.

That was the biggest load of crap I've read in quite some time. Yeah Kobe, Lebron, DWade, Melo and the elite can afford not get paid. They're all still getting endorsement checks and every single one of those guys could choose to never work again and still be fine for the rest of their lives. Owners of any business are in business to make money. I freaking hate the argument that the players are the brand and people come to see the players. True but if it weren't for the owners and the league existing in the first place they're wouldn't be players to watch!

Michael Jordan during the prime of his career wasn't close to the highest paid players in the league. He sacrificed his NBA earnings to give the Bulls flexibility to fill out the roster with players he needed to win. Why not? MJ was making millions from endorsement deals with Gatorade, Nike, Hanes, etc. It's no wonder why MJ is one of the hard line owners unwilling to budge. There is not one elite player today who would do what he did and MJ is the greatest to ever lace them up. A sacrifice to today's elite stars is taking a few million less than the max so they can play together.

The big 3 is bad for basketball. There aren't even 30 elite players in the damn league. Heck I can't even name 15 off the top of my head without going "Who else....????" Basketball is a team sport but there is no other sport where 1 elite star player can have such an impact on a team. Look at Cleveland without Lebron. Finals contenders to lottery team over night due to one dman player! The inmates are trying to run the prison and the owners want to stop it before it gets out of control.

So owners want to have the power to send an overpaid slug down to the D League with a max salary of $75K?! So what!!!! Would have been nice if the Knicks could have done that with Eddy Curry and a few others. The owners want to prevent big market teams from loading up on super stars? Great, it's better for the game and the league as a whole. If you were an undrafted rookie and inked a 1 year deal under the old cba you'd be making over $470K. Poor guy, he only gets to make a little under half a million a year. It's a f****ng game!

I'm 100% with the owners on this. Players need to shut the hell up, sign the deal and get back to playing. If they don't like it and the fans are there to see them then start your own damn league and live on the other side of the fence for a while ala MJ.

Thanks for reading the rant....

Folks think it's just all about fat buisness owners sucking the poor union workers to the bone. It doesn't matter what kind of buisness you own if you hire someone you are the villan. COnversly if you are an employee you are a poor exploited baby seal. The only good owners are if the government owns everything. That thinking reminds me of China during the Mao era.

Goverment can't even govern let alone operate anything in an efficient manner. I have a great employment arrangement. The owners treat me as if I were a partner. I know they make more than me but it's their company. I'm compensated well for my time and am treated fairly. All is well. I also went to college, earned a degree and conduct myself in a professional manner. However, if I dropped out of high school and earned minimum wage I woudln't be blamimg my employer I would blame myself. Of course, this isn't the case in the real world.

I do an extensive amount of interviewing and hiring and it doesn't amaze me that so many people are out of work. Employers are in the drivers seat and will only hire the best qualified candidate at the best possible price. People can gain employment is they want to. The problem is that most are unwilling to "lower" themselves. "I used to make $80K at my last position!" ......and you no longer do and the position I'm filling does not pay as much.

Peronsally, I would scrub toilets if it meant the differnce between earning something and earning nothing. There are way too many that rather earn nothing and do nothing other than rant and rave about how there are no jobs. There are plenty of jobs just not as many that will pay at the rate you've become accustomed to.

Makes me think, with that something you can buy: food, roof over your head and a little "stuff". Which also happens too be things that people naturally had by living off of land before the industrial revolution. Let me think about this one:

organic food, not having to worry where i will sleep and a bit less stuff

VS.

genetically modified food, living in a place that i don't own, sligtly more stuff AND wait for it . . . having to scrub toilets just to be able to afford all of those great luxuries. Some great direction our civilization is moving towards.

You really believe that? You really think that if it wasn't for James Dolan, David Stern, and the rest of the crowd that Lebron, Wade, and Howard and the rest of the players would be packing groceries or flipping burgers? Of course not. There would be a different set of owners and a different league. The owners and the league itself are replaceable. The players aren't. It would be hard but not impossible to replace the owners and the league itself. It would be impossible to replace the players now.
