It will definitely impact people that would otherwise be working and the restaurants near the arenas etc... But the fans that go to the games will wind up spending all that money somewhere else anyway and someone else will do better. Some will go to an extra hockey game. Some with go to the new Aqueduct casino and get dinner and gamble etc... In every city there are entertainment alternatives.

And some will spend it on hookers. It all goes back into the economy

https:// It's not so hard.

edit: saying your ranting was too harsh but you do come across as a bit stressed.

Yeah, I probably was ranting. Feeling very frustrated about the whole thing - seeing the CBA deal being purposely derailed by the owners additional demands at the last minute. Politics in the U.S. being a mess. And most people writing/saying that things are wrong but then just moving on and not taking any action. That's why I respect the OWS people. At least they are actively doing something to make a change. So I tried to rallye up the troops here but that gave me the title of Bizarro.

This is not about creating job...those jobs will still be there and those rooks waiting in the wings will be duly employed so your argument for him to get involved in flawed.

The article was making the lockout about jobs and decreased economies in the NBA cities. That's the theme of the thread.

If this lockout doesn't get resolved then yes, there will probably be jobs next year for the rookies and everyone. But we are trying to have an agreement and season this year. Someone with power really needs to step in. Maybe it will just be the players smarter lawyer, David Boies, who might put a scare in the owners???

Another completely logical reason why I think the owners didn't want a season is because WE GOT MELO. After sucking for so long we got Amare, but there was another year before the owners could have stopped us. Then we got Melo and the owners were just salivating at screwing us out of our deserved redemption. Now, like Rookie has pointed out in the "decertification" thread, the Denver owner is majorly pissed. I think thats why he is all balls to the wall about the Knicks not being able to show how far we have come.
