So he was wrong when he was a critic of the Isiah regime?

It doesn't matter if you are right or wrong. When you are looking for employment, it's dumber than a bag of rocks to criticize that organization, individuals that work for that organization, management decisions, ownership etc... You play the "game" and find the positives you can talk about or keep your dumb ass mouth shut. No one is EVER going to hire someone that is consistently critical of them in public. Ewing is beginning to understand that, but Oakley is obviously still a A-HOLE.

To pick a dig at Thomas out of that article you really have to be creative. He could have been pointing the finger at the player, who knows. I know he didn't say anything OVERTLY critical of Isiah there or anywhere else that I know of.

What? Did you read the article? He's never been pissed off enough at D'Antoni to threaten violence against him, but read below...
Speaking of Thomas, Oakley did little to hide his feelings about the former team president.

“I don’t understand how he even got a job with management,” said Oakley, 47. “He had nothing to do with the Knicks, then he talked bad about the Knicks ... If I see him, he’d better turn around and go the other way.”

you kind of missed the point. I was commenting on the link you osted about EARLIER statements made by Oak. Don't get the time lines and articles confused :)

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

True. You can't bash key players in an organization(star player, head coach, owner's lover) and get hired. But it's hard to disagree with anything he said in that article.

New York loves its past stars but Pat did little to endear himself to the media and after his retirement acted like NY owed him something. Remember Walsh himself said Patrick Ewing NEVER called for an interview. For interested in the job, he sure showed a whole lot of interest.

Before he got the Job in Orland Pat felt he was already head coach material. The job in Orlando came because no other coaching options were out there.

And yeah Oak was right about the franchise being in a shambles but, do we really need to hear it from him. His statement about IT not being a new york dude and such...they would have been brilliant had Isiah still be coaching NY. A few years too late Oak and you just sound bitter.

Real bitter..aside from the fact that Ewing requested a trade that crippled the franchise for a decade, i won't even mention the harsh comments he(oak) said about the knicks when he was traded for camby..

Why is it that Allan, LJ, starks( he was vey understanding when he got traded for spree) have landed jobs with the franchise, Even mason got a small role. Oak and Ewing are not exactly ppl persons, and don't have the personality to be a head coach..bottom line.
