I'll pass on a defensive version of Jamal Crawford.

With the playoffs in mind, someone has to get the ball. This translates into a big, probably Vucevic.

Keep an eye on Montiejunas, a D'antoni type player. Unfortunately, he does everything but rebound.

The true measure of the draft will be our purchase of additional picks. As that goes, so goes our future.

D'Antoni is trying to keep his job. He is going to roll with battle tested vets. Knicks are trying to go deep in the playoffs not develop young players.

So whoever we draft at 17 is going to be playing on our D-League team or collecting splinters.

If Klay and Jimmer are both gone, we will use the 17th on Biyambo (if he's available) or Vucevic. We will purchase the 30th pick from the Bulls and use it on Darius (if he's there still) or Selby.

I'd be stoked with any of these outcomes. A+ would be for Klay T. AND Biyambo.

the more I read, the more I am convinced that Vucevic goes to Philly, 1 spot ahead of Knicks.

I agree. Philly will take a Big and Vucevic will probably be the best big left at #16. Can we trade with Indy - switch #17 for #15 just by giving them some money, no players? Would they take $1 or $2 mil to move down 2 spots? That would probably make a big difference for us.

That's the importance of the rumored Pacers' deal. If it had any truth to it and no major player is falling (see Jimmer, Kemba, Klay, Burks) then you have to put it into effect.

So, has Indy agreed to this?

I'd prefer to stay put at 17 and use that money to buy a later 1st rounder, rather than spend the money on jumping two post for Vucevic.

Maybe last year, but hopefully MDA doesn't have as much influence our pick this yr. If Montiejunas is called at 17, you know MDA is probably here long after his contract is up.

Yeah, my best-case scenario would be ending up with three picks total (2 First Rounders, 1 Second Rounder) and grab a SG, C and PG.

As a fan, it aint my money so I would love it, but I doubt Dolan buys two additional first rounders. Could get costly.

The Knicks have the money to spend if Dolan wants to spend. It will bring in more people to the Garden with raised ticket prices; more people watching Cablevision, etc.

Unless somebody like Bismack Biyombo, Jimmer Fredette or Klay Thompson fall, which we know won't happen or the knicks move up,which is highly unlikely, I think the Knicks pick will be Nikola Vucevic. This is why there is the rumor of the knicks having a deal with Indiana. This is to bypass Philadelphia which is also rumored to be interested in Vucevic. Amare in a recent interview was literally begging the front office to get a big to watch his back in the interior. While Vucevic is not perfect defensively, he is a legitimate center with legit size who can step in and play right away, deliver rebounding and has a lot of the offensive skills that MDA covets. All of these factors point to Vucevic being the pick, IMHO.
