i think it's more likely he's hearing about conversations that happened and are already over, like most trade reports.

i was hoping for a PG and a big in the draft. if they come out of it with a SF and a SG... and trade their best perimeter defender in the process, i will not be amused.

To the folks who think that there is something more to the Casspi rumor:

Are we able to immediately deal him on draft night?

Could we be trading someone on the Knicks who Casspi would replace?

Casspi is still very young, and still has an upside. I see him as a more complete player than Derrick Brown (do we even own his rights at this point?), Fields, Shawn Williams, and Walker, who seem to be players that would be affected by his presence on the Knicks, especially if he can play SG.

Are any of those players possible trade fodder with teams ahead of us in the draft?

I do like Toney Douglas very much though, so my fear is that our perimeter defense is going to blow. We literally have no one now, whereas before we had felton and douglas.

Anyway, Omri is an excellent, tough player. I like him a lot.

Never seen Omri. How would you qualify tough? tough as in decent defender? Could he be one?

One scenario I can see the Knicks going is to do this Omri trade and getting back the #35 pick.

Maybe Alex Burks falls to #17 and then with #35 they go with a PG like Jackson, Jenkins, Shumpert. I think that would solidify the PG/SG/SF rotation for a long time which athletic guys who could possibly defend as well as shoot from distance.

Then they need to concentrate on bigs. Perhaps Billups for OK4 and call it a day.

Would the Knicks be more likely to do that, or look to pick up a big man with the early pick and a guard with the hypothetical later pick we've obtained through trade or purchase?

The other thing is that potential draft-day trades being thrown around might be conditional, and will only kick in if this or that player is available or unavailable at the time we pick- so the rumors might be real, but still not come to fruition.

I never saw Casspi as SG. I think he's more of a three who could play power forward in a small lineup. His floor game hasn't really developed to the point where I'd trust him handling the ball too much. Maybe it will happen in time. He rebounds numbers are above average for a small forward but his passing stats are about average.

Here's some highlights:

He has a good handle (there are 2-3 plays in there where he dribbles the length of the court to dunk) and he has 1 good pass in there.

He is 6'9" supposedly, and I think he can play 2 guard.

Rose is not the answer.

apparently kings mishandled him last year.

the TD love may be a bit overstated -- chris duhon was averaging 7 assists per game in this offense. it makes everyone look good. he got absolutely abused by rondo in the playoffs, albeit he may have been hurt.

this is all speculation, happens every year a few days before the draft.

so long as the knicks can add good players, they really didnt have many last year.

I still don't know who the hell this source is. Why are we trusting some random guy on Twitter?

So he's an NBA agent for no-name players according to his site.

Well either way, I don't believe anything he says. He seems to be tweeting anything he hears with no substance. I'd rather we wait until we hear it from more concrete sources.

great. so ignore the posts. But it also means you are a dip-**** for not searching out someone before you make a decision about him.

So how do you think Chad Ford or Jonathan Givony of Draft Express or Henry Abbot of TrueHoops or Chris Sheridan started? Think they just showed up at ESPN's doorstep and were declared insiders? Or do you think that they were nobody's who decided to put their skin in the game and do their own homework and build relationships and be earnest about what they reported?

This is exactly how you do it. And he is either gonna flame out cause he posts caca or he will build up his brand and everyone will continue to follow and believe or at least take in the information with some informed decision-making.

And WTF does "He seems to be tweeting anything he hears with no substance" mean? He tweets what he hears which he thinks is relevant, that's what everyone else is doing. Same with Hahn, same with Sheridan, same with Givony, same with Ford.

What is tweeting with substance on information that is mostly rumor or best-guesses?

Hahn is not posting BS. Him and the others you mentioned are careful with what information they report. They put more effort into being accurate than this guy.

If you follow other guys they don't post as often as him. He tweets way too much and is all over the place. First he says Knicks are going to trade with the Wolves, then the Pacers, then the Kings, etc. Tomorrow it will be something else. At least those guys post less frequently because they want to give out the most reliable information. this guy will tweet anything and everything and hope one of those happens. That's not good reporting.

Right now it's obvious this guy is a very anxious fire hose type of dude with the info he is passing along while he is trying to build himself up. Use your noggin as a filter.

BTW, maybe you can hit him up on twitter and let you know you would trust him more if he only was tweeting X amount of Knicks rumors per day. Be sure to round up.

I just prefer my sources be more reliable. The only guys I really trust are Hahn, Sheridan and maybe Isola.
