He performs that one trick really well, but is actually more well rounded than most think. He is a strong all-around offensive talent with his ability to pass, handle, and finish. But he isn't a great defender. If we want a potential 2-way player than Brooks is the pick, but Thompson is such an ideal offensive fit.

i like Alec Burks over both of them. Not sure exactly why.

IMHO he is going to be a very good shooter when he figures out his form, decent defender, and a willing passer who can go either way on the dribble and plays the PnR.

Burks reminds me of Fields but with more catch and shoot ability and better ball handling. Probably a better passer too. His shooting form - from shoulders to hands - reminds me of Michael Redd.

He is not an explosive athlete but more slithery. Doesn't seem super strong but has the frame to get strong enough. Only 19.

The thing I really like: 1) he can catch and shoot quickly enough and has very good form, 2) he can turn the corner to the basket and is a very willing passer 3) he has the tools to be a decent defender for his position.

Those things compliment Melo, Amare very well; i can see him being a starter for a long time, and that's what you want with a #17 pick.
