Carmelo's killer instinct with Lebron's skill and BBall IQ - that'd be a decent combo.
Rose is not the answer.

LOL. Lebron would have been passing to Gallo and Chandler and we'd have been eliminated already. No Thanks.

Teams win titles. LeBron, Amare, Gallo, Chandler, Fields, etc > Wade, Bosh, LeBron + scrubs

You saying doesnt make it true.

LeBron, Amare, Gallo, Chandler, Fields, etc < Wade, Bosh, LeBron, Miller, Haslem + scrubs

It's all subjective. Gallo and Chandler were never consistent. They have a good game followed by multiple average games. In the playoffs I roll with proven vets not enigmas.

One thing we do know to be true... a team which had Brian Cardinal, DaShawn Stephenson, Ian Mahinmi, a 5'10" import PG, and a 38 year old PG getting about 100 minutes of playing time in the clinching game for the title, defeated the great 3-headed monster of James, Wade, and Bosh.

Lebron James isn't the best player in the world.

I'm no witness.

He's the most talented... but that hardly means he's the best.

LeBron James doing the dribble, dribble, chuck move reminded me more of Jamal Crawford than Magic Johnson or Micheal Jordan.

There's nothing Lebron can say. He's not Kobe and He's not Jordan. He's come up small in critical times and as talented as he is, he should put his team over the top. Lebron/Wade doesn't really work IMO. Until Lebron can find a way to be effective off the ball, it just won't work. Even Wade disappears when he's not the main ball handler. Right now their an NBA 2K team.

What the hell happened to him in crunch time though? Where was he? I mean, what he did is the opposite of what great players do. This was the opposite of Jordan and Kobe. This was the opposite of Melo and Amare.

He was amazing against Boston and Chicago while the Heat were winning.

Oh and yeah, BOSH SUCKS!!! To the people that wanted Bosh over Amare, thank the good lord you didn't get what you wanted.

Miami is the template for Dolan.

Walsh walked out on it.

Carmelo has beent he best player on a good Denver team that for many reasons not all on Carmelo never was play over its heads.

Miami finishes game 2 this series was theirs.

Lebron is still a boy.

Melo in the heat of a big series under duress and fatigue make a good judgement call, big shot, or the right pass? It has not happened yet. He still makes punk moves and smiles about it.

Not sure either is ready for prime time.

No one can argue that LeBron is the more gifted player and athlete. He's the best player in the NBA.

But man, what a poor showing when it mattered. In the beief time we've seen Melo here, the guy has assassianted people at times, and Game 2 in Boston was one of the most memorable performances from a Knick in some time, and short a Jared Jeffries brain fart, could have been the most memorable.

I would have been thrilled had LeBron chosen us, but Melo is far from a consolation prize--he (and Amare) wanted the NYC pressure and I would argue he's the coldest mofo in the league when it comes to delivering in the clutch.

And good lord, can we stop with all the "he couldn't get out of this round" nonsense. There are valid things to critique about Melo, but the guy competes and he's won. (Maybe that's the SU partisan in me talking.)

If Carmelo averaged 18 PPG, 7 RPG, and 7 assists PG, I doubt anyone would be criticizing him. The PPG are low but they would talk about how great a job he did at setting up teammates (7 assists/game).

Did Carmelo look like a great closer in the Boston series? I saw turnovers, missed shots, offensive fouls, clanged 3s (thats MDA's fault obviously). Its hard to score in those spots. Thats why Mavs won. Dirk was able too and Lebron and Wade were not able to. They really choked. But what has Melo shown in the playoffs (not just this year) that says he's been then any of those guys? Nothing yet...

Lebron is the most talented player in the game. When the Heat upgrade their bench and frontcourt the Heat will win a title (or 4). Does anyone really doubt this?

He choked. And he was was exposed. He is the most supremely skilled underachiever.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

LeBron is the better player skillwise. I think Melo is the better competitor by a mile.

Carmelo unlike Lebron, wasn't afraid of crunch time.

Lebron played some truly outstanding basketball in many playoff games, including closing in 4th quarters this year. He also had some very bad games but he came within 2 games of a championship and has also carried a very bad Cavs team to the finals. The world exists in shades of gray and you're seeing it in black and white IMO.

One question: Did Ewing choke in the 1994 NBA finals? It's hard to compare a C and a wing player but Ewing shot about 35% and it's hard to argue he played better than Lebron did.

Here's a goofy hypothetical question: Miami offers LeBron for Carmelo in a straight swap right now. Do you accept?
