1. Way past prime.
2. Costs a ****load.
3. Can only get worse.
4. We need a STRONG low-post presence.
5. Alcoholic (although Isiah likes "tough/bad boy" players - not sure if alcoholic fits this though).

Vin Baker anyone?

Actually, Metra... Baker would come for league minimum if he's dropped by the Celtics, don't you think? I can't picture us giving anything up to get him.

He was very effective early in the season, but his hunger for a championship has been stalled by a hunger for alcohol. Sad--- not to say that many NYers don't crave a cold beer from time to time, but... still... the millions he's given up because of his addiction--- He should hire me for a measly $100k/yr to make sure he doesn't have a drink. :)

I mean a 10 day or league minimum contract wont hurt us, but how much can you count on a man who lost 35 million in his remaining 2 years, because of an addicition to alcohol?

Thats a lot to lose, but then again he has alot to lose, if I lose my job I'll be losing 35,000! I can always find another.

It's funny. If dude was sniffing coke, amphetamines, meth, anything-- he'd probably be more effective. Shawn Kemp was able to temporarily maintain some semblance of a career. But that firewater, man. When you've downed a fifth of vodka, or half a bottle of that J.W. Black, you cant do NOTHIN' with yourself. Not the evening you craved it, not the night you're drunk on it, and certainly not the morning after.

Good thing I'm only addicted to the internet. The warm, blue glow of the monitor is so soothing...
Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

Be careful, theat blue is the same color as the label on Johnnie Walker Blue.

J.W. Blue is what Vin Baker was prolly drinking....
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Picking up Vin Baker is the best move Zeke could do, if the guy sobers up and plays well you've got a steal . If not oh well let him sit the bench and the team can drop demarr I have long arms but can't shoot johnson.

Very interesting....how long are waivers...3 days?

I doubt any team is going to claim him off waivers because of his salary. Lets just hope he was serious about playing for the Knicks.

If can sign Baker, we'll have a full house, with a fully stocked IR.

When Houston returns after the all-star break, who moves to the IR to replace him? Moochie? Sweetney? Anderson? Johnson...

If we add Baker to our active roster... we'll need to bump another guy down. Will that be Doleac?

it wouldnt b doleac. he's been playing too good w/ marbury to b put on the IL. my guess is it would either b sweets or moochie.

I think the deal between Baker and his team was this: Show up to work in a reasonable manor and team will give you gobs of money. Baker is the one who broke the deal. More than once.

Baker will not contribute. Not more than Doleac. He still has mucho $$$ left on his contract.

Zeke shouldnt pull a Layden and hire a past-his-prime veteran (ie Deke, even Dyess). As i said in other posts, get a low post player thats showing potential.

The Celtics waived Baker and voided his contract. You're saying that we should not pay him $300K to play the rest of the season?

If Zeke can get it done, I am down for it.

Now I see how desperate we are for LOW POST threat. This was our #1 PRIORITY. KT will get torched against playoff teams POWARD FORWARDS and will get frustrated and commit silly fouls even in his contract yr.
