Donnie Walsh hasn't been healthy for the last 2 years. Plus being the Team President of the NY Knicks isn't easy.

For now I'm happy to hear Allan Houston didn't slide into that interim role. If so then I would be panicking. But in all honesty we need a fresher/newer/more innovative/quick thinking/offensive individual to man this position..... sans Dolan interferring

It would be like that 100 million dollar contract all over again. I like Houston but not as a shot caller. Is Mark Warkentien still with the Knicks? He has a good relationship with Melo, he should be considered for the job.

As for Dolan, he wouldn't give an old pro like Walsh autonomy so I'm not too hopeful that Dolan will come to his senses and let a new GM do his thing.

Terrible news, indeed. Confirms the worst stuff we already knew about this franchise. Feckless and barely legit. No wonder Stern hates the Knicks. Now our only hope is that BRIGGS becomes a multi-billionaire and overpays to rescue this team from endless suckage.

No matter how you spin it, Donnie leaving is not a good thing.

The handoff was sloppy and Dolan must now scramble to Plan B before the draft.
