Dude is like 70 yrs old. Do you want him to work until he drops dead?

Donnie Walsh hasn't been healthy for the last 2 years. Plus being the Team President of the NY Knicks isn't easy.

Thanks for making the Knicks relevant again Donnie.

For now I'm happy to hear Allan Houston didn't slide into that interim role. If so then I would be panicking. But in all honesty we need a fresher/newer/more innovative/quick thinking/offensive individual to man this position..... sans Dolan interferring

Hmmm...I guess Amare is traded for Howard in the near future.

Meanwhile Isola wrote an article just days before stating DW had issues/concerns about his head coach and was skeptical of sticking around. Yet Knick fans bash this guy to no end on his reporting

Isola wrote a crap article; read it again, it's not really as you have suggested.

It would be like that 100 million dollar contract all over again. I like Houston but not as a shot caller. Is Mark Warkentien still with the Knicks? He has a good relationship with Melo, he should be considered for the job.

As for Dolan, he wouldn't give an old pro like Walsh autonomy so I'm not too hopeful that Dolan will come to his senses and let a new GM do his thing.

Devil's advocate: What has anyone heard about a single decision Houston has made in his current role that would suggest he is bad GM material?

That's some nutsack-pain-inducing-news right there. Fuck Dolan... stupid team-breaking, chemistry-killing, future-crushing, Isaiah-loving spoiled brat prick. GTFO Dolan!

*vent over*

Terrible news, indeed. Confirms the worst stuff we already knew about this franchise. Feckless and barely legit. No wonder Stern hates the Knicks. Now our only hope is that BRIGGS becomes a multi-billionaire and overpays to rescue this team from endless suckage.

This stinks. Donnie was the best GM we've had in decades.
Our new GM will be someone who will be a Yes man to Dolan. This sucks.

No matter how you spin it, Donnie leaving is not a good thing.

The handoff was sloppy and Dolan must now scramble to Plan B before the draft.

I would have to say that health had nothing to do with the final decision, just my guess.

If it was, he would have left or indicated NO to MSG folks a long time ago; that's the type of person Donnie is.

Martin, you're totally right. This is Dolan. Period. Now we have to dread the remainder of the month/summer to see who will be named the new Pres/GM. Here's a horrifying thought from NY Sports:
And, lurking in the shadows, Iago whispering in Dolan's ear, waiting for his precious to be returned to him, is every Knicks' nightmare boogeyman ... Isiah Thomas. [shiver]

Look out folks: The Knicks' summer just got a lot more terrifying. We'll have more later today, after the 1:30 teleconference the Knicks have scheduled with Walsh. But for now: If you believe in God, pray for the Knicks. If you don't, it might be time to start.
