The blame for the dismal season the Bucks had doesn't fall entirely on Jennings. Bogut's fell off while coming back from the arm injury, Delfino and Gooden missed chunks of the season, Maggette sucked and John Salmon wasn't playing for a contract.

Jennings is talented and you have to think about grabbing him if he's available. He had a bit of a sophomore slump, but he still made minor improvements and it's not out of the question for him to make another jump. He's only 21 or 22. That said, I wouldn't feel comfortable making a possible deal because of the cap implications.

I'd take on Salmons if the Bucks trade us Andrew Bogut. No interest in Jennings. Does anyone honetly think his game meshes with Amar'e and Melo's?

Jennings likes to score, but only shoots 39%. Also, we need to consider his defense. He has his strengths, but also he has some glaring weaknesses.

I'd rather take a flyer on Jimmer Fredette and Fredette is NOT what the Knicks need.

Hell no to Brandon Jennings.

jennings is a really bad perimetere shooter..but then again, melo had a 29% 3pt avg until he became a knick and that shot up to above 40%...go figure.

Felton came to the knicks with a very low 3pt shooting %, 1st 2 months he improve that %, his last month he was a knick, he started chucking shots and missing badly. It kind of started getting bad for him when gallo went down, then chandler was in and out of the line up for a few weeks.

I thiink in a MDA offense there's a thin line betwwen a good shot and a bad one from a pg perspective. I just belive that it takes a pg with a very high IQ, to run a free wheeling offensive that encourages shoot first ask questions later, especially when you have 2 of the top 5 scorers in the league on your team

I would say yes to Jennings. I wanted him in the draft and with one bad season does not change my mind. He does need to learn how to run a team better but look how long it took Billips. He can also learn from one of the best leader in Billips. I think with the PG position dominating more and more the knicks need a PG that is Savvy, and can hold his own with the stars in the league on the cheap(for now).

A lot of rumors get tossed around when the entire league is in one building, but it sounds like Jennings is staying in Milwaukee.

The fact that his name is even being thrown out as someone who may not be in the Bucks' future is more than significant, IMO.

Not sure he makes the rest of the guys on his team better at this point in his career, and he surely did not make any significant improvement in his performance this year.

His 3rd season will tell us a lot, and given the importance of the position he plays, he had better show some improvement as a floor leader if he wants to be a top PG.

If people really want him you can probably wait, and his value will decline, but I don't think he is worth the assets a team would probably have to give up to get him, and is definitely not a PG who will give use the kind of immediate contribution we need from that position.

PG is the most cerebral position in basketball. If I can help it, I prefer someone who wasn't afraid to go to college. He's obviously talented, but hes not a real pg, there are few left. I'd take him for Landry Fields, but I assume they'd want more than that.

I do like that hes smart enough to want to be a knick.

Holy crap, Dan. Somehow you made this thread about Jennings to be another post brow nosing daddy.

nixluva wrote:I don't know what the say about Jennings. He has some talent to be sure. I think that his team was lacking offensive punch and that more than anything dictated how he's viewed as a PG. Not to mention coaching. I think he'd see improvement under D'Antoni much like other PG's have. Felton was better under Mike and there were doubts about his abilities as a PG. It took him a while, but he started to figure it out.

Most PG's see an improvement in % and assists under Mike, so why should I think that this kid wouldn't be able to see some improvement? He's seems to be more of a PG than TD at this point. I can't say that he'd be able to make the full transition, but if anyone can get the MAX out of him it's Mike. As much as people hate on Mike, there's no doubt that he can have an impact on PG's. It's up to them of course how much they take from what he teaches, but usually if the player has PG talent Mike can get it out of them. It's a tough call, but i've seen Jennings make some great passes, so I know he has it in him. It might be the best thing to ever happen to him to end up here with Mike, STAT and Melo. He'd have 2 studs that are GREAT at finishing and scoring and a coach that is excellent at teaching PG's.

I'm not sure Jennig sis what we need. We have the guns, just need a good distributor. IF Billups come sback healthy it isn't as pressing a need as the one for our pivot though.

If we could get Jennings and Salmons for Billups, 17th pick, and change, I would do that deal 10 times out of ten. Jennings is a solid PG that can do the one thing we have missed for a long-time - penetrate into the paint and score. The kid can run the P&R and he has guts. Put him on a team where he does not have to try and score 20 points a game and I think he will turn into one of the better pgs in the league. Salmons is an upgrade over Fields and he would make our bench potent. Jennings, Fields, Melo, Amare, and Jordan, with Salmons and TD coming off the bench is a high-powered team.

DW passed on Jennings in the draft. I doubt he is interested.
