Yet not so much of a peep when Chicago native Derrick Rose landed in the Bulls' laps.

not in the mind of the Stern. This whole lockout issues has a lot to do with small market teams losing money along with their inability to attract free agents.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

After all the accounting shenanigans on Wall Street over the last few years it doesn't seem that far fetched. I'm happy for the Cavs and the Gilbert family. I'd like to see the media tape the backstage selection (keep the film crew sequestered) and release it to the press after the ceremony. It might not end the conspiracy theories but it would give the process some much needed transparency.

The last time the cavs were in the lottery they snag the #1 pick, the very next time they go, they do it again.. 14 year old boy..yeah ok...

This is a lottery, the chances of hitting the jack pot twice on consecutive trips..wow..

good book...goes behind the seen about those little ping pong balls and the lottery business..

Good point about the back to back number one picks. I'll check out the link, thanks.

i had a latin teacher in highschool who won the lottery...not once, but TWICE....each time for over $3M. so, this stuff can happen. boy, we at UK just loooooooove a good consipracy theory. can anyopne say patrick ewing and the bent corner on the envelope????

I agree with this, what happens in one draft has zero relevance on the next. A team can win three in a row and that doesn't impact their chances on the fourth In any way. The only considerations are how many balls are in play ( total ) vs. How many are in the mix for your rank in the picking order. And calling this a back to back is a huge stretch.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

the lottery is conducted in a room with lawyers from every team in addition to outside consultants who run the thing. its like one of those ball hoppers where the balls pop up, and they correspond with team ID #'s. what's on TV is afterwards are the results. every team in the lottery is part of the process to ensure its not rigged. to think otherwise is silly.
